Foreign media: Tesla's Berlin factory may deliver the first model Y in March

Jiwei Network News, March 9 news, according to foreign media reports, less than a week after the approval, Tesla has begun to send emails to consumers who book Model Y in Germany, asking them to complete orders.

Foreign media: Tesla's Berlin factory may deliver the first model Y in March

The emails asked customers to select a shipping location and fill out their payment method, and the orders showed that the delivery date was still an estimated date of March 2022.

Foreign media believe that the emails are a good sign that Tesla is expected to deliver the first German-made car later this month.

Earlier, according to Reuters, the German state of Brandenburg said Tesla received conditional approval for a German gigafactory near Berlin on Friday, ending months of delays in the €5 billion ($5.5 billion) milestone project.

Brandenburg Governor Dietmar Woidke told a news conference that the development (Tesla's construction of the factory) marks "a big step into the future", adding that the Tesla factory will be a major industrial and technological driver in Germany and the region.

The 536-page conditional build permit for Tesla doesn't mean the American electric car pioneer could start production right away. It must first prove that it meets many conditions, including water use and air pollution control.

Only then will Tesla be able to obtain the long-awaited license to operate and really begin rolling out the 500,000 battery-powered cars it hopes will produce annually at its new factory in Gruenheide. (Proofreading/Andy)
