Subsequently, a spokesman for the regulator said staff are currently reviewing the proposal, with the new goal of bringing ZEV sales to 68 percent of total sales by 2030, 76 percent in 2031 and 100 percent in 2035.
According to relevant data, the state has sold more than 1 million electric vehicles so far, becoming the first state in the United States to cross this milestone.
But not all of these vehicles are pure electric vehicles, including 379,000 plug-in hybrids and nearly 12,000 fuel cell vehicles.
It is worth mentioning that the state has previously announced that it will gradually stop selling new gasoline-powered light vehicles by 2035.
