According to official disclosures, Jidu Automobile's first automotive robot concept car will be officially released in April this year, and the first mass-produced model will be publicly unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and is expected to be listed in 2023. It is reported that this mass production model will be supported by the Jidu intelligent driving system, provided by the Baidu autonomous driving computing platform and NVIDIA DRIVE Orin hardware and computing power, while the software and algorithms will be jointly developed by Jidu and Baidu.
Previously, Baidu founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li had revealed that Jidu's automotive robots run through the three major product concepts of "free movement, natural communication, and self-growth", specifically, that is, the driving ability has reached the L4 level of automatic driving, and equipped with NVIDIA's DRIVE Orin SoC (System-on-Chip), which realizes the accurate recognition of speech semantics in human-vehicle interaction, so that cars and people can "naturally communicate" and understand user emotions, and respond to user needs in real time. In addition, it can also carry out self-learning and iteration according to the user's usage habits, continuously optimize the automatic driving and intelligent cockpit experience, and achieve "self-growth".
It is understood that Jidu Automobile was established in March last year, and in June of the same year, Jidu first proposed an intelligent electronic and electrical architecture JET (extended tool suite) for L4 automatic driving; in July, the company announced that the styling design of the first car has been completed and will enter the engineering development stage; in September, it entered the SIMUCar (that is, software Integration Mule Car software integration simulation model car) road test stage In November, it announced that it became the domestic debut of Qualcomm's 4th-generation Snapdragon auto digital cockpit platform 8295; in December, its SIMCar achieved high-speed, urban dual-domain intelligent driving functions.
Previously, ZF and Jidu signed a strategic agreement to help Jidu build the world's leading automotive robot, and the two sides will cooperate closely in multiple directions such as chassis components and control systems, electric drive systems, passive safety systems, and jointly develop intelligent chassis technology for automotive robots. According to relevant sources, ZF and Jidu will jointly develop intelligent chassis technology to support the upcoming release of automotive robots, of which Jidu is responsible for intelligent driving and development related to product experience, while ZF is responsible for developing high-quality chassis components and creating safe and reliable digital execution interfaces.
