Therefore, I specifically studied the inscription poems of the Eight Monsters of Yangzhou during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Advancing from the point and coming out of the surface injects new perspectives and new examinations into the study of Chinese art history. I originally planned to interpret and sort out the eight strange painting poems in Yangzhou in two volumes. For various reasons, in June 2020, the Humble Book "Yangzhou Eight Strange Inscription Poems" (about 500,000 words) published by Wuhan University Press actually only has the content of the interpretation of the inscription poems of Bian Shoumin, Chen Zhuo, Gao Fenghan, Gao Xiang, Hua Yao, Li Wei, Yang Fa and other 7 people. Due to the inconvenience of going to the publishing house by car during the epidemic prevention and control period to dock with the responsible editor, many work has been delayed, and in 2021, the content of the inscription poems of Wang Shishen, Huang Shen, Jin Nong, Li Kun, Zheng Xie, Li Fangyi, Luo Ping and other 7 people will be re-reported for selection and publication by Wuhan University Press. To interpret the inscription poems of the Eight Monsters of Yangzhou, it is naturally necessary to carefully distinguish historical materials with a judgmental eye and avoid false rumors.
In addition, the modern translators and interpret the poetic rhythms of the ancients are mostly based on the "Pingshui Rhyme" and "Cilin Zhengyun", and sometimes ignore the reform of the official language caused by factors such as the change of dynasties, the change of ancient Chinese, the change of traditional culture and even the migration of Kyoto, as well as the changes that follow the ping, the battle, and the rhyme of poetry. There are also poets who "borrow mistakes to say truth" in the prison of words to show their integrity.
