According to the voting results, the top 20 projects with the number of votes were shortlisted for the final evaluation of the top ten new archaeological discoveries in The country in 2021. Among them, the two archaeologies of Baoji Zhouyuan Ruins and Xi'an Jiangcun Tomb in our province were shortlisted for the final evaluation.

In this preliminary evaluation, the Selection Activity Office issued a total of 227 ballots, including 91 group votes and 136 directors votes. All groups and directors actively voted, and a total of 209 valid votes were recovered, and the participation rate of the judges was 92.1%.

2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of modern Chinese archaeology. There are many important archaeological achievements participating in the preliminary evaluation. Some archaeological findings have been unanimously recognized by the judges, the project with the first number of votes was shortlisted for the final evaluation with 209 votes, the top ten projects received more than 149 votes, and many projects received the same number of votes, and the competition was very fierce.

The 20 archaeological excavation projects shortlisted for the final evaluation show the characteristics of covering a wide area, diverse types of ruins, and rich connotations of sites. The names of the 20 sites on the shortlist may be unfamiliar to the public, but they are all familiar to the majority of archaeologists. Although archaeological discoveries are accidental, the new discoveries are not coincidences, but the hard work of archaeologists for several years or even decades, and the archaeological gains achieved under years of unremitting efforts are even more rewarding for kung fu.

The shortlisted projects such as the Baoji Zhouyuan Site in Shaanxi, the Jiangcun Tomb in Xi'an, Shaanxi, the Jinshangjing Site in Acheng, Heilongjiang, and the Mingzhongdu Site in Fengyang, Anhui are all archaeological projects that have lasted for several years, and these sites have continued to carry out archaeological investigation and excavation work for many years, emphasizing the combination of multiple disciplines, which is not only the need for the development of archaeology itself, but also the need for research and protection. It further reflects the depth of archaeological work and is an important principle of the selection of "Top Ten Archaeologies".
