History and Origins
At the 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympic Games, Paralympic snowboarding was a sub-event of Paralympic alpine skiing and became an official winter Paralympic event for the first time. At the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympic Games, Paralympic snowboarding was separated from Paralympic alpine skiing and became an independent snow sports event.
Competition venues and facilities
The Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Paralympic Snowboard Competition was held at The Genting Ski Park in Zhangjiakou and consisted of two events: slope slalom and obstacle course chase.

The snowboard slope slalom track is irregular terrain with appropriate slopes, with a vertical drop between 100 meters and 250 meters, a track length between 400 meters and 1000 meters, a ski slope width of at least 25 meters, a track width of at least 4 meters, and an average gradient of about 15 degrees; the vertical drop of the obstacle course is between 100 meters and 250 meters, the length of the track is between 500 and 1000 meters, the width of the slope is 40 meters, the width of the track is 10 meters, and the average slope is about 12 degrees.

Race equipment
According to the requirements of the International Paralympic Snowboard Federation, athletes must wear split clothing.
Competition equipment includes skis, ski boots, split clothing, helmets, ski goggles and assistive devices unique to athletes with disabilities, such as protective devices and prosthetics. The parameters of the skis are not clearly defined, and most athletes use racing skis when chasing competitions, which are faster and more stable when competing.
Basic format
The slope swing takes the form of a single time trial, in which the athletes glide for 2 rounds, and the results of the shortest round determine the final ranking. The obstacle course chase is a pre-final system. The preliminaries are in the form of a single time trial, each person has 2 rounds of skating opportunities, and the best result is ranked. The Arbitration Commission determines the number of finalists based on the number of participating athletes, which takes the form of a double-player knockout round. Athletes in groups of 2, the first athlete to pass through the finish line to advance to the next round, until the winner and runner-up.
Paralympic snowboarding is a racing event that involves crossing a certain number of flag gates and gliding at maximum speed on undulating pistes. After a long period of hard training, athletes control the state of gliding, continuously improve the speed of sliding, and fully demonstrate the spirit of self-improvement.
