In April 2024, the domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 736,000 units, and from January to April 2024, the domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 2.52 million units.

Among them, in April 2024, the production and sales of new energy vehicles will reach 870,000 units and 850,000 units, respectively, with production up 0.8% m/m, sales down 3.7% m/m, and 35.9% and 33.5% y/y, respectively, with a market share of 36%. Among the main varieties of new energy vehicles, compared with March 2024, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles decreased slightly, and the production and sales of the other two major types of new energy vehicles increased to varying degrees; Compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of fuel cell vehicles declined, and the production and sales of the other two major types of new energy vehicles increased to varying degrees.
From January to April 2024, the production and sales of new energy vehicles totaled 2.985 million units and 2.94 million units, an increase of 30.3% and 32.3% year-on-year, respectively, and the market share reached 32.4%. Among the main varieties of new energy vehicles, compared with the same period last year, the production and sales of the three major types of new energy vehicles have increased to varying degrees.
Export data of new energy vehicles
According to the data released during this press conference, in April 2024, the domestic sales of new energy vehicles will be 736,000 units, a decrease of 2.9% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 37.3%; NEV exports totaled 114,000 units, reflecting an 8.6% m/m decrease and a 13.3% y/y increase.
From January to April 2024, the domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 2.52 million units, a year-on-year increase of 34.4%; NEV exports totaled 421,000 units, reflecting a 20.8% y/y increase.
Breakdown of model export data
According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in April 2024, 89,000 pure electric vehicles were exported, down 10.9% m/m and 2.4% y/y. Plug-in hybrid vehicle exports totaled 25,000 units, reflecting a 0.8% m/m increase and a 1.7-fold y/y increase.
From January to April 2024, 337,000 BEVs were exported, up 4.5% y/y. Plug-in hybrid vehicle exports totaled 83,000 units, reflecting a 2.3-fold y/y increase.
