On February 22, the first "Earth Critical Point" environmental protection public welfare contemporary art exhibition was officially opened in IFC "M Space" in Guangzhou. It is reported that this exhibition is free to the public, the exhibition period is until March 22, and the participating works come from outstanding young artists at home and abroad. They use cross-media forms such as paintings, images, installations, and behaviors, from the study of the natural environment to the presentation of the current situation of biological existence, from the observation of the local area and the thinking of the human development model, to explore the current situation of the global environment in multiple dimensions.

According to reports, the "Earth Critical Point" plan is a cross-border alliance-style public welfare innovation practice, initiated by Wu Liheng, an advocate and practitioner of the concept of "life is public welfare", aiming to take youth development as the foothold and starting point, take environmental protection as the core topic, integrate corporate social responsibility and other related resources, carry out public advocacy in the form of art exhibitions, and strive to trigger the attention, thinking and action of young people and even the public on the "low-carbon", "environmental protection" and "sustainable" lifestyle through cutting-edge and cutting-edge touchpoints.

"News such as the global pandemic dilemma and the imminent extinction of polar bears triggered by climate change have made me more and more aware of the urgency of environmental issues and the importance of activating such discourse in the public sphere." When talking about the reasons for the project, Wu Liheng specifically mentioned that in the context of China's "double carbon strategic goal", more and more socially responsible enterprises paid attention to and supported the promotion of environmental protection issues, and finally through the integration of cross-border resources, they contributed to the environmental protection public initiative. "The first exhibition of 'Earth Critical Point' selects a contemporary art carrier that is popular with young people, and it is precisely because of the hope that through the cross-media art practice with young artists as the main creative body, the public welfare innovation practice can create an emotional connection with the audience in a more touching and direct way, so that everyone can try to look, pay attention to and think about the impact of human activities on the ecological environment and the current society in the dimension of pushing themselves and people." She said.

It is reported that since the art exhibition officially launched the collection of works on December 20, 2021, it has triggered a warm response beyond expectations, and received nearly 300 works of art from more than 240 young artists at home and abroad. Yang Cheng, the curator of this exhibition and a pioneering young artist after 95, told reporters, "Today's young people are sometimes misunderstood by the public as indifferent to the topic of the public environment. When I have in-depth exchanges with many young artists, I find that in the process of self-exploration, it is actually full of opportunities to pay attention to and connect with public environmental topics through individual experience and practice. "Behind the theme of 'environmental protection', there is actually a multi-dimensional and abundant creative space related to the changes in the current situation of the earth, the diversity of ecology, and human behavior." The artists participating in this exhibition are embracing full freedom to express and interpret, they reflect on industrial mass production and observe excessive consumption through artistic creation; perceive nature and energy from the perspective of animals and plants; and explore desire and freedom, war and faith from the perspective of individual human beings. At the same time, we also look forward to more members of the public to come to this public free dialogue space and build more bridges of collision and exchange with art. Yang Cheng said.
