Ding Zehua, the new director of the Song Art Museum
On March 18, 2022, Ding Zehua, president and collector of Beijing Songze Art Center, was officially appointed as the director of Song Art Museum, and was fully responsible for the operation and management of the future Song Art Museum.
Mr. Ding Zehua has a strong passion for art, and his personal collection involves a wealth of Chinese contemporary art works since the 20th century, always paying attention to the new perspective and forward-looking development of Chinese contemporary art, and striving to establish a display sequence of modern and contemporary art in China's private art museums. Based on Mr. Ding Zehua's personal collection, Song Art Museum will form an exhibition with vertical thinking through in-depth research, enhance the academic and professional construction of Song Art Museum, optimize and maintain the benign ecology of private art museums in an all-round way, and actively participate in and promote the development process of Chinese contemporary art.
About the Matsu Museum of Art
Song Art Museum, located on the banks of the Wenyu River in Shunyi District, Beijing, was designed by the famous designer Mr. Zhou Guangming and officially opened to the public in 2017.
The art museum covers an area of about 69 acres, divided into two districts, the main venue in the west area is divided into 12 exhibition halls, with a total area of about 2200 square meters, and the first and second halls in the east district are 500 square meters each. The Song Art Museum also has supporting facilities such as art derivative space, public education sun room, event reception hall, leisure café and so on. One hundred and ninety-nine pine trees in the courtyard, together with the white Victorian main building, constitute a simple and inclusive artistic landscape.
As an art space with a sense of social responsibility, Song Art Museum, while continuing to pay attention to the history of Chinese contemporary art, concentrates on the promotion plan of young artists, with the intention of creating a diversified, creative, experimental and growth-oriented youth art platform; and takes the promotion of public aesthetic education as its own responsibility, open space, continuously and stably output art education activities and experimental projects, and continuously strengthens the role of public cultural services; relying on the unique temperament and social attributes of Song Art Museum, through cooperation with brands to gain new knowledge, cross-border elements, Scene practice creates unique cultural value and constructs a vivid new era art form.
