The healthcare system is facing a crash! According to the news, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region today (February 17) temporarily recorded about 5,000 confirmed cases of new coronavirus.

The fifth wave of the epidemic in Hong Kong is severe, many hospitals are full of emergency rooms and hospital beds, and they need to set up tents outside the hospital as a diversion area, and a large number of infected people sleep outside many hospitals all night, and the scene has become a "third world". From time to time, there are scenes of major hospitals being full on the Internet, and patients in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have tragically become refugees from "third world" countries, many of whom are elderly or young children. Recently, the weather in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has begun to turn cold, although it has not snowed heavily in the north of the mainland, but it has made patients who have been infected with the new crown virus face a greater threat to their health.

According to the pictures released by major media on the Internet, most of the patients sleeping in the open air of the hospital are seriously ill elderly, who can only sleep in the emergency outdoor area of less than 1.5 meters away from the bed in the cold weather of Hong Kong at 12 degrees outdoors, and some patients can even sit on rubber chairs to "line up all night". It is reported that some patients have not been arranged to be admitted to the hospital for two consecutive nights; witnessing this situation, anyone can only sigh: "It is sad to think of it"!

Where is the location of the Hong Kong version of the official cabin hospital? The SAR Government has still not given an explanation for this. Regarding the SAR Government's plan to recruit the completed public housing estates, QueenSan Estate No. 1 and 7, and HengjingLou, Lai King Estate, as isolation facilities, Legislative Council member Cheung Shin-wook said that he had received a large number of complaints from Queens Hill residents that the measures were not ideal, and he yesterday joined hands with Queens Hill District Councillor Law Ting-tak, chairman of the Northern District Council, and others to hold a video conference with the Deputy Secretary for Security, Au Chi Kwong, to reflect the views and concerns of residents and ask the Government to give it more careful consideration.

I believe that all citizens in Hong Kong agree that the location of the new quarantine facility must be implemented as soon as possible, but everyone should also understand that there are few people in Hong Kong, and not every citizen can say: "The society needs a quarantine place, but please do not set it up near my apartment". If Hong Kong wants to fight the epidemic successfully, every citizen should put aside his selfish mentality and selflessly focus on the overall situation.

The Hon Cheung Shin Woo also said and proposed that it would be more appropriate to build a cabin hospital through assembly and synthesis, and there are many large flat plots of land in the north of the New Territories that have the potential to be built immediately, including Shaling and Lok Ma Chau Loop areas, and believe that many private land owners are also willing to borrow the local cabin hospital. The Square Cabin Hospital is a medical facility, and the requisition of unincorporated PUBLIC HOUSING units is used as an isolation facility; the purpose of the two is very different! At present, what the Hong Kong community urgently needs is not only medical facilities, but also isolation facilities. Councillor Cheung Hsin-woo should also take into account the overall situation and explain the main points to the citizens of the district.

It is reported that government personnel promised Zhang Xinyu that they would conduct field research with relevant departments, and invited experts from the Department of Health and relevant departments to conduct a comprehensive risk assessment. It seems that the medical isolation facilities in Hong Kong, based on the mentality of some people "do not come near my home for medical and isolation facilities", it is still unknown when they will be available in sufficient quantity!
