Embark on the red footprints and inherit the revolutionary gene

author:Guilin Life Network

Recently, Professor Lu Ping, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Public Administration of Guilin University of Technology, led a group of 42 teachers and students to Quanzhou County, Guilin City to carry out a unique on-site teaching activity of red culture education.

The starting point is to tell the touching deeds of the Red Army on the Hongyin Bridge

Quanzhou County, the red hot land of northern Guangxi, witnessed the heroic battles and glorious course of the Red Seventh Army on the way north. The heroic unit of the Red Seventh Army, which swung its division to the north, went through thousands of miles of battle, and sprinkled its blood on the land of Quanzhou, leaving a deep red mark. With reverence, the teachers and students first came to Hongyin Bridge in Longshui Village, Longshui Town, which is the starting point for them to trace the footprints of the revolution.

Professor Lu Ping affectionately told the touching story of the Red Seventh Army spending the night on the bridge to the teachers and students. At the beginning of 1931, the Red Seventh Army, under the leadership of General Zhang Yunyi, advanced from the Daxi River into Quanzhou. When passing through Longshui Town, although the soldiers were hungry and cold, they still strictly abided by discipline and did not disturb the people or take a stitch from the people. The soldiers of the whole army spent the cold night on the bridge silently, and when the people had not yet woken up at dawn, they quietly left, this action profoundly demonstrated the noble spirit of the revolutionary soldiers, and let the suffering people see the light of hope for the victory of the revolution. The teachers and students present were deeply touched and expressed that they would take the revolutionary martyrs as an example, strengthen their beliefs, never forget their original intentions, forge ahead, and bravely climb the peak.

On the way, find the footprints of our ancestors and listen to the voice of heroes

Then, the teachers and students embarked on a journey to trace the footprints of the revolutionary pioneers, to the places where great leaders such as Deng Xiaoping, Li Mingrui, and Zhang Yunyi had passed and stayed. Here, the Red Army actively publicized the aims and policies of the Communist Party and the Red Army, won the broad support and enthusiastic response of the villagers, and wrote many moving chapters in the deep feelings between the military and the people. It is particularly worth mentioning that Commander-in-Chief Li Mingrui once delivered a touching speech here, thanking the villagers for their support and love. To this day, there are still three sentences in the village: "I am Li Mingrui!" Li Mingrui is me! The Red Army is the children of the poor, and it fights for the poor! In the form of on-site party classes, Secretary Lu Ping vividly told the teachers and students about the heroic deeds and noble spirit of these three revolutionary predecessors, which made everyone deeply educated and inspired.

Epilogue: Re-take the Red Army Road and experience the arduous process

In the last battle, teachers and students arrived at the Red Revolution Education Base in Yanjing Village, Daxijiang Town, and they followed the footsteps of the Red Seventh Army and re-walked the road where the Red Army soldiers fought bravely. Under the guidance of the party flag, they walked through the verdant mountains and forests, deeply feeling the bravery and hardships of the revolutionary martyrs. Through the combination of on-site visits and on-site teaching, teachers and students have a deeper understanding and experience of the noble spirit of the revolutionary martyrs who are not afraid of sacrifice and heroic struggle, further strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and inject a strong spiritual impetus into the future struggle.

Lai Bingsi, who participated in the on-site teaching of red culture, shared his feelings about the event: "History is the best textbook, this time I participated in the red culture education practice and listened to Secretary Lu's lecture on the party class, we deeply realized the hardships of revolutionary soldiers, and now a happy life is not easy to come by." This red culture education practice activity is not only a vivid party history learning and education, but also a profound ideological baptism. It is understood that this immersive on-site teaching method is very popular with teachers and students, and such activities make red culture vivid and vivid, no longer an abstract concept in books, but a historical memory at your fingertips. This not only increased the interest of teachers and students in red culture, but also stimulated their enthusiasm and determination to inherit the red gene and carry forward the revolutionary spirit.

This practical activity was also strongly supported by Comrade Hua Guilin, Deputy Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Director of the Office of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Guilin University of Technology. He said that through practical activities, teachers and students can have a deeper understanding of the glorious history of the party and further enhance the cultivation of party spirit, which is of great significance for promoting the innovation and development of ideological and political education and party member education in the college.
