The "Genius Mother" public welfare project is a brand public welfare project created by the China Women's Development Foundation after ten years of public welfare practice and upgrading and innovation. In October 2020, the "Genius Mother" - Farmer Painting Handicraft Dream Workshop officially settled in Dongfeng County, Jilin Province, with the strong support of the China Women's Development Foundation and the active drive of the Dongfeng County Women's Federation, over the past year, the workshop has more than 70 "genius mothers" to join it, organizing 12 training courses for peasant painting creation, training 172 lesson hours, more than 140 person-times; delivering and completing the first batch of orders for peasant painting works; organizing farmer painters to participate in activities 4 times. It has truly realized the "home" for low-income mothers engaged in peasant painting creation in Dongfeng County to work, employment, study and exchange.

The completion of the Dongfeng Peasant Painting Dream Workshop has given the female authors of Dongfeng peasant paintings the glorious title of "genius mother", realized the flexible employment of female creators at the "doorstep", and broadened the channels for poor women to increase their income. Effectively promote the inheritance of Dongfeng peasant painting intangible cultural heritage skills, and light up the direction of the "genius mothers".
The Dongfeng County Women's Federation takes the training of peasant painting creation as a normal work, hires professional teachers, adopts the combination of centralized teaching, classroom creation and on-site guidance to create peasant painting works, and conducts centralized training from various aspects such as peasant painting composition, expression form, material application, etc., aiming to further improve the handicraft skills and painting level of peasant painting "genius mothers", integrate the innovative concepts of the new era into peasant painting works, and highlight the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage. In 2021, in accordance with the arrangement of the China Women's Development Foundation, the Dongfeng County Women's Federation relied on the "Genius Mother" dream workshop, combined with the characteristics of Northeast folklore and the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival, to deliver and complete 1,000 works by female peasant painting authors, so that more people can understand peasant paintings, so that Dongfeng peasant paintings can go out of Dongfeng, out of Jilin and into the world.
Interact with intangible cultural heritage and handicrafts to explore new arts and fashions. Dongfeng County Women's Federation has repeatedly organized "genius mothers" peasant painting female authors to participate in the Shanghai Great World "Noisy Tradition" Intangible Cultural Heritage Sales Display, Shanghai Public Welfare Fashion Week, Beijing Starbucks Cooperative Leader Training and Qingdao Starbucks Rural Mothers Accelerated Program Salon Experience and other series of activities, which not only broadened their horizons, but also increased their confidence in continuing to create more excellent works, so that traditional handicraft innovative products can be staged and integrated into public life.
