The reason for the increase in shipments is the increase in the demand for remote interaction due to the epidemic, as well as the price reduction strategy of Oculus Quest 2, Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Oculus Quest 2 markets occupy the first place in AR and VR respectively.

With the fire of the metaverse concept, the INCREASE in the AR/VR market has been driven. TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that at present, the AR/VR device market has not seen explosive growth, which may be due to the shortage of components and the difficulty of developing new technologies.

TrendForce believes that it will not be possible until at least 2023 to see products from other brand factories replace the current mainstream position of Oculus or Microsoft. In addition, the agency expects to ship 18.81 million AR/VR units in 2023.

Currently, the consumer market is dominated by the Oculus Quest 2, which is between $200 and $400. In the commercial market, with products above 1,000 yuan, Apple has also become another focus of the AR/VR device market. In addition, TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that Apple will likely target the commercial market and adopt a pricing strategy with HoloLens.

Overall, TrendForce Jibang Consulting believes that the launch time of new products such as Apple, Meta, and Sony this year may be delayed, and it will not add obvious growth to the overall AR/VR market.
