According to the latest survey by TrendForce Jibang Consulting, although factors such as the supply of panels and parts and the decline in home economic effects have affected the shipment of e-sports LCD monitors (defined as refresh rates above 100Hz) in 2021, most brands in the fourth quarter have adopted a strategy of active price reduction and promotion of e-sports products, and still successfully pulled up the shipment of e-sports LCD monitors in 2021 to 22.8 million units, with an annual growth rate of 24%.

However, the growth momentum in 2022 will slow down, in addition to the high base period of shipments, the biggest variable is still the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, if the conflict continues, it will impact the demand of the European market, which in turn will affect the shipment performance of e-sports-related products, on the other hand, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has triggered a high price of crude oil, metals, and bulk crops, which has caused a sharp increase in the originally elevated inflationary pressure, so TrendForce Jibang Consulting conservatively estimates that the shipment of e-sports LCD monitors in 2022 will be 26.1 million units, an annual growth of 14%.

From the perspective of product type, TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that in 2021, the market share of flat e-sports LCD monitors will reach 59%, officially surpassing the curved surface by 41%. Mainly last year, in the case of Samsung Display (SDC) fading out of the supply ranks, the supply of curved panels was short, and the price increase increased as a result, coupled with the continuous increase in the supply of flat IPS e-sports products, which made the competitiveness of the curved panel market decline. In 2022, the market share of flat curved panels remains unchanged, but the supply of curved e-sports panels mainly in the two major suppliers AUO and CSOT continues to increase, and the price of curved e-sports panels takes the lead in reducing prices, which promotes the re-emergence of the cost-effective advantage of curved e-sports machines, which will make the market share of curved e-sports LCD monitors rise slightly to 43%.

TrendForce Jibang Consulting believes that in addition to continuously improving the specifications of e-sports products, including the synchronous improvement of resolution, it will help brands maintain or enhance profitability, especially from the fourth quarter of 2021, the supply of 34-inch (21:9) wide-screen VA products has increased significantly, coupled with the sense of panel price reduction, so that the brand profitability and operation space are large, which is expected to drive the 13.4% market share of the widescreen challenge in 2022.
