Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, has a long history and profound accumulation. It began in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In December 2011, The Lantern Riddle (Zhangzhou) was listed as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Fujian Province. The "Zhangzhou Lantern Riddle Art Museum" established in 1992 is known as the "First Museum of Chinese Lantern Riddles" by puzzle friends at home and abroad, and the museum collects ancient books, puzzle notes, calligraphy and paintings, seals, inscriptions and other riddle cultural relics, including Zhang Chaonan, Zhang Qinan's "Shanhui Bookhouse" Nanmu Yanglian, Gao Boyu's lifelong collection of ancient enigma books, and Zhaoqing Duanyan carving artist Mr. Chen Rirong's National Essence No. 1 Duanyan, which is the three treasures of the town museum. According to the staff, wherever there are Chinese people, there are lantern riddle activities, and the Zhangzhou Enigma Association has established exchanges with friends at home and abroad on the basis of maintaining contact and exchanges with thousands of enigmas from nearly 100 lantern riddle societies across the country.
