King Mu of Zhou was about to conquer Inuyasha, and the priest's father advised him with a blunt voice, "No! The first king ruled with glory without showing off his strength. When the state gathers its army, it must wait until the right time to use it, and when it is used, it must show its might. To easily show off force is to treat the use of soldiers as a child's play, so that no one in the army will be afraid. Therefore, Zhou Wengong's "Ode" poem says: "Put away the shield and hide the bow and arrow." Our king preaches virtue, and lets it spread throughout the country. My king must be able to maintain this virtue. 'The king always asked the people to work hard to straighten out their virtues and to attach importance to the cultivation of their own good character; to enrich their own material needs, to prepare their own utensils and utensils; and to make them understand where the stakes were, and to educate them with liturgy, so that they could do good things, avoid doing harmful things, and make them miss the rule of virtue and hate force. Therefore, the first king was not only able to keep the world, but also developed and grew even more.

"Once upon a time, our ancestors successively served as the peasant officials houji of Yu Shun and Xia Yu. When the Xia Dynasty declined, the peasant officials were abandoned and no longer paid attention to agricultural affairs. Our ancestor Wang Bumi lost his position as a peasant official, so he had to flee to a place between Xi Rong and Northern Zhai. But he still did not dare to slack off in agricultural affairs, often spreading the virtues of his ancestors, inheriting the cause of his ancestors, studying their teachings and the system of rules and regulations, being cautious and diligent from morning to night, maintaining the system of his ancestors with a dignified and down-to-earth attitude, and adhering to the rules of his ancestors with a loyal and faithful attitude. Generations thereafter have inherited the merits of their ancestors and have not tarnished their predecessors. When he arrived at King Wu, he continued to carry forward the bright virtues of his ancestors, coupled with his love and kindness, serving the gods and protecting the people, and the people were not unhappy. At that time, the king of Shang was resented by the people, and the people could not tolerate it, so they happily supported the king of Wu, so that the king of Wu sent troops to the outskirts of Shang. This is not the use of force by the first king, but the anxiety and sympathy for the suffering of the people and the removal of harm for them.

"The system of the first kings was: the areas directly administered by Tianzi around the royal city were Dianfu, and the areas where Tianzi was divided into princes were Houfu; those between the princes and the frontier areas were guests; the areas where barbarians and Yi lived were to be obeyed; and the areas where Rong and Zhai lived were deserted. The Dianfu area should offer sacrifices to the Heavenly Son to sacrifice the grandfather and father, and the Houfu area should provide sacrifices for the Sacrifice of the Heavenly Son to the High Ancestors and Great-Grandfathers; the Binfu area should provide sacrifices for the Sacrifice of the Heavenly Son to the Distant Ancestors; the areas to serve the Heavenly Son should offer sacrifices to the gods of the Heavenly Son; and the princes in the deserted clothing areas should enter Beijing to meet the Heavenly Son. Offerings to the grandfather and father are provided once a day; offering sacrifices to the high ancestors and great-grandfathers once a month; offering sacrifices to distant ancestors once a quarter; offering sacrifices to the gods once a year; and going to Beijing to see the Son of Heaven once a lifetime. This is the testament of the first kings. If there are those who do not come to offer sacrifices, the Son of Heaven must examine his own thinking, and if he does not come to offer the moon sacrifice, he will check his own speech; if he does not come to offer the sacrifices, he will check his own decrees; if he does not come to pay tribute, he will check the honor and inferiority; if he does not come to the court, he will check his own virtue; and if the Son of Heaven has checked in turn and still does not come, he will check the criminal law. Only then did he punish those who did not offer sacrifices according to the day, attack those who did not offer sacrifices according to the month, requisition those who did not offer sacrifices according to the season, condemn those who did not pay tribute, and warn those who did not come to see the Son of Heaven. In this way there are laws of punishment, attacking armies, requisitioning weapons, and severe condemnation. The words of the exhortation. After the decree was pronounced and the proclamation was issued, the Son of Heaven examined his virtue again and did not let the people go on a toiling expedition. In this way, there will be no princes in the vicinity who disobey orders, and there will be no disobedience among the princes in the distance.

"Now, since the death of Daibi and Boshi, Inuyasha has come to see the Son of Heaven according to his duties. But you said, 'I must crusade against it according to the charge of disobedience, and show off my military might to it.' This is only afraid of betraying the teachings of the previous kings, so that the system of the 'king of the desolate' is almost abandoned, right? I have heard that the rulers of Inuyasha have a simple disposition, can follow the virtues of their ancestors, and firmly maintain the etiquette of entering the dynasty for the rest of their lives, so that they have a reason to resist us. ”

King Mu of Zhou did not listen, so he went to attack Inuyasha, only to get four white wolves and four white deer

come. From then on, the princes who were desolate did not come to see the Son of Heaven.
