In the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping clearly pointed out that "improve the ideological and political work system and promote the integration of ideological and political education in primary and secondary schools". Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has elevated ideological and political work to an unprecedented strategic height, put forward the major thesis that "ideological and political work is the lifeline of all work of the school", and emphasized that "promote ideological and political work through the talent training system, and give full play to the synergistic effect of integration, embedded, and infiltration of moral cultivation". The "Opinions on Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Work in the New Era" emphasizes that "accelerate the construction of the ideological and political work system in schools, implement the project of cultivating new talents of the times" and "build a general pattern of jointly promoting ideological and political work".

I started teaching ideological and political lessons in September 1975. At that time, I graduated from the English class of Yangzhou Normal School and stayed on as a teacher in the political teaching and research group. The Politics Teaching and Research Group undertook the task of teaching political science courses in the whole school (there was no mention of ideological and political courses at that time), and opened three courses: philosophy, political economy, and the history of the Communist Party of China. I taught philosophy for two years and political economy for one year. At the end of 1977, I took the college entrance examination and became a "seventh-seven" undergraduate student in the Department of Philosophy of Nanjing University. After graduating in February 1982, he was assigned to the Marxist-Leninist Teaching and Research Department of Nanjing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and walked on the podium of ideological and political classes for the second time to give lectures on philosophy. This time, I was called by my colleagues as the "only philosophy teacher from a class" in the Marxist-Leninist Laboratory, and I taught here for three years. In September 1985, I became a doctoral student of Professor Xiao Qian of Chinese People's University, focusing on the study and research of dialectical materialism. During this period, I worked part-time as a political science teacher at the Modern School of Management in Beijing, teaching philosophy. Since then, no matter how my post changes, I have always been closely associated with the ideological and political education platform.

These experiences have made me pay great attention to General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on ideological and political education, learn and understand them in a timely manner, and apply them in my lectures. In particular, after studying General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the school's ideological and political theory teachers' symposium, I have new thinking and understanding of the school's ideological and political courses. Ideological and political course is an important course, a difficult course, and a course that must be taught well and can be taught well.

(a)

Ideological and political courses are an important course. The importance of ideological and political courses lies in the importance of their tasks, contents, and status.

First of all, ideological and political courses undertake extremely important tasks. The fundamental task of education is to establish morality and cultivate people, and ideological and political courses are the key courses for carrying out the fundamental task of cultivating morality; young people are the future of the motherland, and the adolescent stage is the "jointing and booting period" of life, and they need to be carefully guided and cultivated the most; the gradual and spiraling establishment of ideological and political courses in primary and middle schools is an important guarantee for cultivating generation after generation of socialist builders and successors.

Secondly, ideological and political courses teach extremely important content. Politics, Ideology, Morality, Rule of Law, History, Situation and Policy...... These contents of ideological and political courses are directly related to the improvement of students' political theoretical literacy and ideological and moral quality, the formation of students' world outlook, outlook on life, and values, and the cultivation of students' thinking on the rule of law and the accumulation of historical knowledge. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "To do a good job in ideological and political courses is to carry out Marxist theoretical education, use the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics to cast the soul and educate people, guide students to enhance their self-confidence in the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, theoretical self-confidence, institutional self-confidence, and cultural self-confidence, cultivate patriotic feelings, and consciously integrate patriotism, national aspirations, and serving the country into the struggle to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics, build a modern socialist power, and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." ”

Finally, ideological and political courses have an unprecedented importance. He personally presided over the school's ideological and political theory course teachers' symposium, observed the on-site teaching of the ideological and political classroom of the ideological and political course, made a series of important speeches on the ideological and political course, and put forward the important instructions of the "big ideological and political course". The position of ideological and political courses in the overall strategy of the Party Central Committee in governing the country has become increasingly prominent, and ideological and political courses have become the key courses, core courses, and soul courses for cultivating morality. The construction of Marxist colleges, which concentrate on the teaching of ideological and political courses, has been placed in an important position by various colleges and universities, and the teachers of ideological and political courses have been given priority and strengthened, and the funds required for ideological and political teaching and scientific research have increased substantially. The "Work Plan for Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of "Great Ideological and Political Courses" issued by the Ministry of Education and other ten departments is steadily advancing.

In a word, the role of ideological and political courses is irreplaceable, and the teachers of ideological and political courses have a great responsibility.

Ideological and political courses are an important course, and at the same time, they are also a difficult course to teach. There are many reasons for "difficult to speak", but there are mainly three aspects: the listener, the speaker and the difficulty of the course.

From the listener's point of view, the factors that make ideological and political courses "difficult to teach" have been preliminarily sorted out, and I think there are the following points.

First, the "knowledge shortcomings" of the listeners make it difficult to teach ideological and political courses. Ideological and political courses involve a wide range of knowledge, and lectures require certain theoretical knowledge, historical knowledge, social knowledge, practical knowledge, etc. as the foundation or foreshadowing, and these are precisely what young students lack. In addition, some young students still lack the way of thinking needed to learn ideological and political courses.

Second, "limited experience" makes it difficult to teach ideological and political courses. As General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, the content of ideological and political courses is very deep and wide, involving Marxist philosophy, political economy, scientific socialism, economy, politics, culture, society, ecological civilization and party building, reform, development and stability, internal affairs, foreign affairs, national defense, governance of the party, governance of the country and the army, party history, national history, history of reform and opening up, history of socialist development, world history, history of the international communist movement, world conditions, national conditions, party conditions, and people's feelings, etc. A good ideological and political class, the more experienced the listener, the more relishable it will listen to, and the more it can resonate. What young students lack from school gate to school gate is experience. Without a certain amount of experience, it sounds incomprehensible and difficult to resonate.

Third, the complexity of social life makes it difficult to teach ideological and political courses. The ideological and political course teaches the truth or morality full of positive energy, and it is a course to educate students on what to be and how to behave. However, society cannot be pure at any time, and there will always be people and things that are exactly the opposite of what is said in ideological and political courses. The complexity of this kind of social life will affect the doubts of students who are not deeply involved in the world about the correctness and usefulness of truth and morality, and then affect the effect of ideological and political courses.

From the point of view of the speakers, there are many factors that make it difficult to teach ideological and political courses, mainly in the following aspects: First, the theoretical specialization of ideological and political courses is very strong, and if teachers do not have a solid professional foundation for ideological and political courses, it will be difficult to teach them well; second, ideological and political courses have a wide range of knowledge and involve complex issues, and if they lack sufficient understanding and research on social life and history, it will be difficult to teach them well; third, ideological and political courses need to be both scientific and rigorous and lively. Fourth, there are many class hours in ideological and political courses, and teachers are very heavy in lecturing tasks, so it is difficult to devote more time and energy to them, and if the preparation of the class is not sufficient, it will be difficult to teach well.

From the point of view of the ideological and political course itself, this is a very difficult course. Its theoretical, ideological, historical, realistic, and time-sensitive nature is very strong, and any of them can not be easily grasped, and in addition, all aspects have very high requirements for ideological and political courses, so it is indeed not easy to teach ideological and political courses well.

(c)

When we say that ideological and political courses are difficult to teach, we are by no means saying that ideological and political courses are not good. The importance of ideological and political courses determines that ideological and political courses must be taught well, teachers should take ideological and political courses as their duty and pursue goals, and schools should take ideological and political courses as indicators and priorities to improve the quality of running schools. Ideological and political courses must also be taught well, because many teachers' ideological and political courses have been very successful, and a large number of ideological and political demonstration courses have emerged, which have become models for us to learn.

General Secretary Xi Jinping listened to ideological and political courses when he was a student, and lectured on ideological and political courses after taking up a leadership position. How can ideological and political courses be truly loved by students and benefit them for life? He stressed the need to select good teachers and "let teachers with firm beliefs, profound knowledge, and profound theoretical skills come to the lectures." The effect of ideological and political courses depends on the quality of teachers, and teachers of ideological and political courses should have such qualities, that is, strong politics, deep feelings, new thinking, broad vision, strict self-discipline, and positive personality. These six qualities are the premise of doing a good job in ideological and political courses, and it is impossible to do a good job in ideological and political courses without these qualities.

In addition, in order to make the ideological and political course more affinity and appeal, more pertinent and effective, to achieve the unity of knowledge, feelings, intentions and actions, and to make people convinced, the teachers of the ideological and political course are also required to carefully prepare the script, delve into the art of lecturing, and realize the "eight unifications": the unity of politics and academic reason, the unity of value and knowledge, the unity of constructive and critical, the unity of theory and practice, the unity of unity and diversity, the unity of dominance and subjectivity, the unity of indoctrination and inspiration, Explicit and implicit education are unified. These "eight unifications" are not something that can be effective by any "unification" alone, and "only by doing a good job of combining punches can we do a good job in ideological and political courses." The spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech is not only the essentials of teaching ideological and political courses, but also the standard for measuring the quality of ideological and political courses, and it is also the ardent expectations and strict requirements for teachers of ideological and political courses. We must profoundly understand and conscientiously abide by it, so that the "eight unifications" will become a conspicuous symbol of every ideological and political class. In particular, it is necessary to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on "big ideological and political courses", insist on opening the door to run ideological and political courses, build "big classrooms", build "big platforms", and build "masters", and strive to make every ideological and political class produce due results.

The key to doing a good job in ideological and political courses lies in teachers, including full-time teachers and part-time teachers. Although we have found the reason in the listener, the listener is definitely not the main reason. In the ideological and political classroom, the teacher is the first "responsible person". As teachers, we must do everything possible to teach ideological and political courses well!
