The national treasure "Prince Noon Ding" returns to Wanwan "Provincial Relatives" from now on, and the public can go to the City Museum to see the style

According to Ping'an Nanyang:

On February 12, the "Provincial Relatives" exhibition of the Prince Noonday National Treasure was opened to the public at the Municipal Museum, and many citizens competed to see the national treasure.

The "Provincial Relatives" exhibition of the Prince NoonDay National Treasure is one of the important exhibitions and major planning activities of the Municipal Museum in 2021, which was originally scheduled to open to the public during the Spring Festival in 2022, and this exhibition was temporarily shelved due to epidemic prevention and control. After the Spring Festival, the Municipal Museum immediately sent a team to welcome the national treasure "home". At 16:30 on February 9, after a careful escort, the prince arrived safely at the City Museum.

Known as the "leader in Ding", the prince Wuding was excavated in 1978 in the Chu Tomb No. 2 of the Lower Temple of The Huaichuan River, and there are a total of 7 pieces of Ding excavated, the shape and ornamentation are exactly the same, because the inscription on the Ding is engraved with the word "Prince Noon", so it is called The Prince Noon Ding. Prince Wuding is the son of King Zhuang of Chu, the brother of King Gong of Chu, and the artifact of Prince Wu (also known as Zi Geng), who served as the lingyin (prime minister) of the Chu state, and because of the exact personal and place names, Prince Wuding has become an important standard instrument for the study of Chu culture.

The prince of Huiwan "Provincial Relatives" is 61.5 centimeters tall and 59 centimeters in caliber, with a wide body, a corset, a flat bottom, and oblique ears, and 6 relief dragons are attached around the body, and the animal mouth bites the edge of the ding, and the animal foot grasps the waist hoop of the Ding, full of movement, as if it is about to take off. The Prince's Noonday Ding was formed by casting and welding, using new ideas such as mortise and intermediation, and its skill was superb, and it was the first-class level in the world at that time. The long inscription expresses the remembrance of the ancestors, recounts the achievements of Prince Wu himself in administering the people with virtue, and teaches his descendants to use this as a criterion, which is a rare long beautiful text on the bronze ware of the Chu State and has important historical value. In addition, the inscription is written with bird seals, which is known as the earliest "art character" in China.

The national treasure of the heavy weapon Prince Wuding, which is the epitome and witness of Nanyang's long and splendid history and culture, is now stored in the National Museum of China, Henan Museum, etc., and has become the treasure of the town museum, highlighting the charm and style of Nanyang Chu-style bronzes.
