On the evening of February 9, Beijing time, Samsung officially released a new Galaxy S22 series flagship mobile phone, of which the Galaxy S22/S22+ compared to the previous generation has undergone a small modification, in the camera and core configuration has been upgraded, Galaxy S22 Ultra is directly incarnated into the Note series of products, with a square design and S Pen blessing, becoming the first S series products that can be built into S Pen. It is worth mentioning that the "armored aluminum" that Samsung will use on the folding screen mobile phone this time is also placed on the new S22 series to strengthen its durability. A few days ago, foreign media PBKreviews conducted a disassembly and durability test on the Samsung S22.
The durability test begins with a one-minute immersion test, which has little impact on the S22, which has an IP68 dust and water release rating.

The screen of the S22 is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, and the test shows that the material with a hardness level of 8 on the Mohs scale will cause scratches on the screen, and the same material is also used on the back, and the scratch resistance is still good. Of course, this does not mean that the Galaxy S22 does not need a protective case, and the glass, while hard enough, is still fragile.
The phone's frame, buttons, camera module and SIM card holder are made of aluminum, which is very strong, and the phone will not bend or damage it when bent from either side, and the S22 has a durability score of 10/10.
When disassembling the S22, it is necessary to break the adhesive by heating to pry open the back glass, there is a huge graphite sheet between the battery and the back plate to dissipate heat, and it is also equipped with a wireless charging coil and an NFC antenna.
The S22's motherboard is secured by nineteen screws and a series of connectors, all of which are disassembled to reveal a stacked PCB board containing key components such as chipset, RAM, storage, and rear camera. Changing the screen requires removing the key parts of the phone and heating the front of the phone to loosen the adhesive, the 3700mAh battery has no pull tabs and needs to be pried down using alcohol and a skid, and its repairability score is 7.5/10, the same as the previous generation S21.
Overall, the Samsung S22 has a very good durability, quite strong, the screen is not easy to scratch, and according to the video, even if there are scratches, the fingerprint sensor under the display can work properly. In terms of disassembly, although the difficulty is not very large, it is better for non-professionals not to try.
