According to Samsung's preliminary estimates, sales of South Korea's Galaxy S22 series exceeded 900,000 units earlier this month, and this figure is expected to break the 1 million mark this Friday within six weeks after the official launch on February 25. Samsung said in a statement, "Considering the slowdown in the growth of the national smartphone market, the S22 series has maintained the sales momentum when it first went public since its launch, so it has been smooth sailing." ”

Among the three new models, the largest and most expensive S22 Ultra accounted for more than half (60%) of total sales, while the S22 Plus and S22 each accounted for about 20% of sales.

Samsung said that compared with the previous generation model, the phone's sales outside of South Korea also increased by more than 20%. Sales have increased in most markets, with sales growing by as much as 70% in some markets. It is worth mentioning that the Samsung S22 series was attacked earlier for its controversial game optimization service application, which limited the performance of the phone when running applications such as games, but fortunately, Samsung publicly apologized and made a software update to solve this problem, and now it seems that its sales have not been greatly affected by this.

Industry observers say more subsidies from local telecom operators in South Korea have also played a role in boosting phone sales. Subsidies for the S22 Ultra have more than tripled over the past few weeks to 500,000 won (about 2,620 yuan).

According to the "2021 Patent Index" report released by the European Patent Office (EPO) on the 5th local time, Huawei applied for 3544 patents in Europe last year, surpassing South Korea's Samsung ranking first.
