Lamborghini: 2030 hopes to also produce oil trucks

On March 5, 2019, at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland, the new Lamborghini Aventador SVJ roadster was unveiled.

Lamborghini hopes it will continue to produce cars with internal combustion engines over the next decade, CEO Stephan Winkelmann told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag this week. In an interview with the newspaper, he said: "After the hybrid, we will wait to see if it is possible to supply internal combustion engine cars after 2030, one possibility is to keep internal combustion engine cars alive through synthetic fuels."

Lamborghini: 2030 hopes to also produce oil trucks

If Lamborghini does continue to build cars with internal combustion engines until 2030, it will set the Volkswagen company at odds with many in the industry. For example, consider dodgers. The Stellantis brand plans to launch its first all-electric muscle car for the first time in 2024. That same year, it also plans to stop producing some of its most popular gasoline-powered models, including challengers and chargers. In contrast, Lamborghini will not offer all-electric vehicles until the end of the century.

In fact, even if Lamborghini continues to produce cars with internal combustion engines in the 2030s, it may not be able to sell them in many places. In the United States and other parts of the world, governments have moved to ban the sale of gasoline-powered cars by the middle of a decade. Countries like Germany have drawn a line for synthetic-fuel-powered cars, but there are currently no companies mass-producing gasoline alternatives, and probably not for many years to come.
