In an exclusive interview with Autocar, Stephen Winkelmann stressed that electrification is part of Lamborghini's future. Winkelmann said Lamborghini's first electric car will opt for a more mainstream-friendly crossover positioning, which he said is a more "versatile" car than the Urus, with higher chassis clearance and possibly built using the Audi Artemis platform.

It is understood that the new car will enter the engineering development stage later this year.

With the launch of the new four-seater crossover, the new Urus SUV will also be fully electrified. The all-electric Urus is likely to be available in 2029, and the next generation of Urus won't have plans to power the internal combustion engine.

In addition, in the next two years, Aventador and Huracan will launch hybrid models.

In Lamborghini's history, four-seater cars can be said to be one of the few, except for the 2 + 2 four-seater GT car Urraco, which was delisted in 1979, only the LM002 in the 1980s and the current Urus SUV have more than 2 seats.
