Editor's note: "The day is not everywhere, youth comes from just now; moss flowers are as small as rice, and peonies are also learned." "This is a true portrayal of the vast majority of small-scale rural schools. In the past 2021, the reporter went from Yinan to Yuncheng, and then from Zhuanhua to Yiyuan squatting, witnessing many educators with feelings taking root in the countryside, and they are working hard to make up for the gap with glimmer and help rural children grow better. The family sits idly and the lights are amiable, which is the ideal state for the Spring Festival reunion. In small-scale rural schools in many parts of Shandong, countless rural principals and teachers are rushing to the homes of students in remote rural areas that lead to the middle of the mountain, and they want to use their precious winter vacation time to go to their children's homes and enter their children's hearts. From now on, the Qilu Evening News Qilu One-Point "Youth Talk" column will successively launch the "Winter Holiday Memories of Rural Principals/Teachers", focusing on what rural teachers see, hear and feel during home visits, light up the dreams of rural children, and inject strength into rural revitalization. The following is the winter holiday record of Su Rong, a teacher at the brick town center primary school in Yinan County:

Monday, February 7, 2022 The weather is clear

I grew up in the countryside and taught at the primary school in my hometown after graduation. I was once confused, but time was fleeting, ten years later, I inexplicably liked the tranquility of the countryside and the simplicity of the campus.

Because of this, I can really go into the hearts of rural children. For them, the meaning of the New Year is not so much about wearing new clothes and eating food, but rather to be able to quietly enjoy the time with their families, to be reunited with their families who go out to work, to be happy and harmonious, to truly feel the love of their parents, and to get the attention of their families.

In rural areas, it is normal for parents to go out to work and for children to follow their grandparents. Even if the mother of some children is at home, the mother will do manual work in the village or nearby villages to facilitate the pick-up and drop-off of the children. Children are sent to school very early, until the end of the after-school delay service is picked up, and there are not many opportunities for communication between parents and children. In the child's heart, the father is out of reach, and the mother is busy and tired. New Year's Day, with the family, the daily life of rural children does not seem to have changed much, but when playing, laughter will be sweeter, smiles will be more beautiful, and that happiness is down-to-earth and heartfelt.

Growing up, time is like a white colt passing through the gap. And when I was a child, in the years when there was no mobile phone, not even a telephone, the long wait stretched the time indefinitely, when suddenly one day, I accidentally saw an old bus parked on the head of the alley, my parents got out of the car, calling me, that feeling can not be described in words, strange and familiar, including the faces and voices of our parents, enough for us to engrave this vague feeling in our hearts.

Today's rural children, even if they have mobile phones, can often contact, but the desire for reunion, the thought of their parents will not diminish at all. During the winter vacation, I often meet the children in the class with their families on the street, they greet me warmly, and what is different from the past is that there is a happy light in their eyes, and they even have the confidence to speak.

Home visits can better understand children more directly. Lei Lei, a 10-year-old girl, has younger siblings at home. The younger brother is young, the mother has a slight obstacle to communication with people, the father works outside the home for many years, and when she is young, she will do all the housework, and her aunt usually helps take care of it.

Last year, she was reticent and rarely interacted with her classmates. In order to take care of the family, Dad worked near his home for the first two months, and at the same time transported the sisters to and from school.

When I met Lei Lei this time, she was a lot more cheerful, and she would talk to me about homely things, about the books she had recently read, and about holiday plans with her classmates. The company of parents still has a great impact on children. With his father at home, Lei Lei is much more cheerful and confident.

Sincerely hope she is getting better and better. In the days to come, as far as the eye can see, the heart will be full of love. May every child with expectations be treated tenderly by the world.
