The new platform seeks to enhance the attractiveness of public office

Agence France-Presse reported that the government's minister for public office and transformation, Amélie de Montchalin, unveiled the national "employer brand" in Paris on February 7, a tool designed to make public jobs more attractive, especially for younger audiences.

The Ministry of Public Service broadcast live the launch of the choisirleservicepublic.gouv.fr website on social networks, hoping to "raise awareness of public service positions and attract fresh talent." The website offers 45,000 job opportunities, as well as videos and presentations on related jobs.

On the homepage of the website, visitors can go to "Find a Job", "Find an Internship", or "Take the Civil Service Exam" to get further information according to their own situation. The site hopes to bring together all public sector recruitment information by the end of the first quarter of 2022.

De Mont-Chalin said this does not involve additional hiring programs, but rather a response to the talent and new skills shortage. She stressed that the number of people taking the national civil service examination had decreased by 2/3 in 25 years. De Montsalin praised the "meaning" and "value" of civil servants' work, surrounded by 7 public officials from different professions, and witnesses also recounted their achievements in their work.

Choisirleservicepublic.gouv.fr website, launched four days after the submission of a report on the attractiveness of local public services, noted that nearly 40 percent of France's local public services sectors had encountered recruitment difficulties.

A few days ago, a poll by Ipsos showed that more than 1/4 of hospital staff said they were considering leaving public hospitals.

France's public sector employs 5.7 million people in 2020, and de Montsalin said 100,000 new recruits would be needed each year to secure jobs.
