Tesla is recalling cars again.
On February 10, Tesla announced that it would recall 578,607 vehicles in the United States. The reason for the recall is that the Tesla car's unique "Boombox" feature is too loud to be heard, which may mask the alarm sound when the car approaches a pedestrian.
According to Reuters, Tesla has issued 10 recalls in the United States in the past four months, and 4 in the past two weeks alone. Tesla is currently under increasing scrutiny from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Vehicles involved in the recall include the 2020-2022 Model S, Model X, Model Y and 2017-2022 Model 3.
NHTSA said Tesla failed to comply with federal automotive safety standards on minimum sound requirements for electric vehicles.
It is reported that Tesla will solve this problem through OTA. After OTA, disable the Boombox feature when the vehicle is in driving, neutral, and reverse mode.
