On February 10, the U.S. Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Tesla would recall 578607 car in the United States because the "Boombox" function was too loud and violated federal safety standards.
It is reported that "Boombox" is tesla during the Christmas of 2020 launched the car function, the function allows the driver to customize the car horn sound, can choose the goat call, fart sound and other personalized horn.
In addition, users can upload five custom songs that are played externally while driving through external speakers.
NHTSA believes that the various sounds played by the "Boombox" may affect the judgment of pedestrians, resulting in safety issues.
Tesla said it has not yet received a report of a traffic accident due to this feature.
The recall relates to the Model S, Model X, Model Y and Model 3 produced in 2017-2022 in the U.S. market, and Tesla will disable the "Boombox" function in the U.S. market. (Fast Technology)
