Today, the list of the National Academy of Engineering was announced, and a total of 133 academicians were elected. In the shortlist, Iron Man Musk became the "Academician Ma" in one fell swoop, and Dr. Zhang Hongjiang, chairman of the Zhiyuan Research Institute, was selected as an overseas academician, congratulations!
The list of members of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is announced!
Who knows, "Madman" Musk was also selected, the title +1, we will have to call him "Horse Academician" in the future.

In addition, among the 22 elected overseas academicians, Dr. Zhang Hongjiang, chairman of the Beijing Zhiyuan Research Institute, is among them.
This year, NAE announced a total of 111 new members as well as 22 new members overseas. After these 133 academicians joined, the total number of NAE reached 2388, and the number of overseas academicians reached 310.
Founded in 1964, NAE is a non-profit, non-governmental organization in the United States affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). NAE is responsible for carrying out the engineering projects needed by the country, oriented by education and research, recognizing and affirming the value and achievements of engineers.
The qualification of NAE academician is one of the most professional and highest level of evaluation criteria for engineers at present, which is used to commend those who have made breakthroughs in engineering research, engineering practice, engineering literature and other fields, or who have made outstanding contributions to innovation in the field of technology, major breakthroughs in traditional fields, and practical innovative methods to carry out engineering teaching.
The newly selected individuals will officially join at NAE's Annual Meeting on October 2, 2022.
Musk: Please call me "Academician Ma"
Here, Musk himself feels that there is no need to introduce too much.

22 overseas academicians, Zhang Hongjiang was elected
Dr. Zhang Hongjiang served as chief technology officer of Microsoft Asia Pacific R&D Group and president of Microsoft Asia Engineering Institute, and one of the founders and vice presidents of Microsoft Asia Research Group, one of the first ten "outstanding scientists" of Microsoft Asia. In 2018, Dr. Zhang Hongjiang was appointed as the chairman of Zhiyuan Research Institute.
Since October 2011, Dr. Zhang Hongjiang has served as CEO and Executive Director of Kingsoft and CEO of Kingsoft Cloud. He is also a director of Cheetah Mobile, Thunderbolt Limited and 21Vianet Data Centre Limited.
On April 20, 2017, Source Code Capital announced that Zhang Hongjiang joined Source Code Capital as Venture Partner.
In May 2018, he announced that he was appointed as a senior consultant of Carlyle Investment Group, and in 2018, he was appointed as the chairman of the Beijing Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute. He is currently the non-executive chairman and independent director of AAC Technology, and the independent director of Xiaopeng Automobile and Huami Technology.
Academically, Dr. Hongjiang Zhang is a dual fellow of the International Computer Society (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE).
For his pioneering contributions, Dr. Zhang was awarded the Outstanding Asian American Engineer Award in 2008. In addition, Dr. Zhang received the 2010 IEEE Technical Achievement Award and the 2012 ACM SIGMM Technical Achievement Award.
In the list of top 1,000 top scientists in the field of computer science and electronics in 2021, it is worth mentioning that 53 Chinese scientists have been selected, and Zhang Hongjiang ranks first among Chinese mainland scientists.
At present, Dr. Zhang has published nearly 400 academic papers, holds nearly 200 international patents, and is one of the scientists with the highest impact factor in the international computer field.
