Chunlan told reporters that before coming to Shanghai, she had been a childcare sister-in-law in her hometown for many years, and her income was quite considerable. However, eager to learn, she was not satisfied with mastering the most basic maternal and infant care knowledge, and after hearing that the Shanghai parenting market was good and the level of maternal and infant care was high, she went from Yancheng to Shanghai Beach alone to seek opportunities to improve her skills.
When I first arrived in bustling Shanghai, I was not familiar with life, where to go to find a job as a childcare sister-in-law? "There must be a market where there is demand, where is the greatest demand?" Surely it's a maternity hospital! In this way, Chunlan came to the vicinity of Shanghai Red House Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, looking for a suitable target for herself.
In the end, she chose to take root in the Help Girls Mother and Baby Service Center. When I first arrived at the post, the panic of insufficient skills came to my face. Therefore, whether it is pre-job training or special training in professional schools, she has learned the knowledge and skills of various domestic services in an orderly manner, and finally obtained the Shanghai Maternal and Infant Nursing and Medical Care Professional Certificate.
After having the certificate, Chunlan was not satisfied with this, she thought: to serve the family in Shanghai, you must have real skills. Shanghai family hygiene habits requirements, meal preparation requirements, storage and finishing requirements, she carefully studied. In order to learn the skills, Chunlan also spent more than a month to enter the residents' families and help the kitchen do housework for free. Apply what you have learned in the competition
The domestic service vocational skills competition jointly organized by the Yangpu District Federation of Trade Unions and other units has nearly 400 domestic workers in the district registered for the competition. In the individual all-around competition, including pension, mother and baby, first aid, flower arrangement, storage, cooking and other skills competition, for the domestic staff, the comprehensive quality requirements are extremely high.
In the face of the industry's predecessor masters, Chunlan can only choose a rest day or take time to study when the baby is asleep. "There is no time to squeeze in time, eat and learn theory, get up early and practice the dark." Recalling the bits and pieces of preparation before the game, Chunlan could not help but fall into emotion. She said that in the cooking process, there is a fixed item is fried potato shreds, in addition to the requirements of color and flavor, the thickness of the shredded potatoes is also clearly stipulated. "In order to practice cutting shredded potatoes, I ate fried shredded potatoes for 20 days, and now I feel a little sick to my stomach when I see potatoes." Chunlan quipped.
When preparing for this part of cooking, Chunlan also systematically learned the seasoning and collocation of confinement meals, which helped her a lot. "The confinement meal tastes light, and if it is not well matched, it is difficult for pregnant women to swallow." She said that poor maternal eating is not conducive to postpartum recovery and is not conducive to breastfeeding. Therefore, she attaches special importance to the preparation of confinement meals, uses the original taste of food to increase freshness and taste, and then stimulates the appetite of pregnant women and satisfies the appetite of pregnant women through balanced meat and vegetarian collocation and exquisite plating.
Practice the unique skill of "listening to crying and discerning meaning"
A qualified sister-in-law will not only feed the baby, change the baby's diapers, but also help the mother to do a good job in postpartum recovery, observe the baby's growth and so on. "Sister-in-law is a careful job in the end, you have to always pay attention to observation, timely adjustment of nursing content." Feeding the baby, bathing and touching the baby, coaxing the baby to sleep, making confinement meals for the mother, breastfeeding the mother... In addition, it is also necessary to observe and record in detail how much breast milk the baby has drunk, the color and frequency of stool, the baby's daily body temperature... 24 hours a day, the work schedule is full, and there is hardly a moment of idleness.
In the process of taking care of the baby, Chunlan gradually explored a set of unique skills of "listening to crying and discerning meaning". In ordinary people's voices, there is no difference in crying, but she can accurately understand the baby's intentions. "The voice is loud, rhythmic, long-lasting and the sound changes from strong to weak, most likely because the baby is hungry." Chunlan gave an example to reporters that if the baby cries for different lengths and is accompanied by body writhing, most of them are the baby's discomfort, and it is necessary to change it into a clean diaper in time.
Help postpartum depressed mothers get out of the haze
In recent years, the incidence of maternal depression has increased year by year, and Chunlan has also taken care of a woman with postpartum depression at work. "As soon as I arrived at her house, I found that she sat all night and did not want to rest, and her eyes did not leave the baby for a moment. If you are really sleepy, squint for a while, and the first thing you do when you wake up is to put your hand next to the baby's nose to feel whether the baby is still breathing, and I am afraid that the baby will sleep. ”
Chunlan told reporters that new mothers overprotect their babies are likely to be one of the initial manifestations of postpartum depression. Therefore, in addition to her busy work, she consulted with professional psychologists and read relevant books to further understand how to alleviate the postpartum depression of pregnant women and help women get out of the haze. "As soon as I have time, I talk to the mother, tell the mother's mother that 'the child sleeps well, don't worry too much, I will observe the baby's situation every once in a while' to alleviate the anxiety of the mother, and at the same time persuade the mother's husband to take her to the specialized hospital for further examination and treatment as soon as possible, and to be more considerate of the new mother's emotional changes in daily life, to support and understand her more, and to avoid quarrels." After a series of efforts, the new mother finally came out of depression and returned to normal life.
The acid and bitterness behind the high salary
Every three or four hours, you have to feed the baby once, plus deal with the baby's irregular crying at any time. Chunlan admits that when taking children, they are basically in a light sleep state, and the baby will instinctively get up to check as soon as there is movement. "When it's my turn to rest, I want to sleep for a day and a night."
Hard work naturally brings high income, but on the other hand, it also brings Chunlan an occupational disease of neurasthenia. But compared with occupational diseases, what makes Chunlan even more sad is the employer's incomprehension.
The gold medal sister-in-law who can take care of newborns and mothers, and the elders who can get old-fashioned concepts will also meet employers who do not support her work. "Once, I even ran directly to me and cried for an hour," said Chen Ping, the general manager of the gang girl, sighing, Chunlan wholeheartedly took the child, but was misunderstood and doubted by the employer, and her heart was definitely uncomfortable.
