It is understood that the fourth generation of fuel cell buses developed by Zhongtong's 12-meter new N-series hydrogen fuel cell bus series has been greatly improved in terms of mileage and reliability, and the addition of hydrogen can currently travel more than 500 kilometers. In order to ensure the use of vehicles for the Winter Olympics, these hydrogen fuel buses from the procurement of parts to the design, production, commissioning and other aspects of the vehicle strict control, supporting a full range of intelligent driving assistance equipment including ADAS, etc., to achieve N95 healthy cockpit standards in the car, whether it is anti-low temperature, safety performance or comfort, have been comprehensively improved.

At the same time, the vehicle is equipped with air purification and disinfection devices, temperature monitors, etc., which play a role in epidemic prevention. In terms of safety, it is equipped with a vehicle sprinkler system, smoke detection alarm, etc., and the safety performance of the vehicle is further strengthened. In addition, the vehicle has also been improved in terms of humanization, the whole vehicle is equipped with a disabled pedal, which can be used by special groups during the Winter Paralympic Games, equipped with on-board WiFi, which can be convenient for passengers and domestic and foreign media.

Because the driving route of this batch of vehicles is mainly from the Olympic Village to Chongli South, in view of the cold environment of the route, Zhongtong Bus has also focused on the low temperature adaptability of the body and the thermal insulation performance in the carriage. In September 2021, the batch of vehicles passed various tests including high-pressure accessory low temperature test, chassis accessory low temperature inspection test, low temperature cold start test, etc., which can achieve normal start and operation of -35 °C vehicles and maintain the temperature in the car at 15 °C.

In addition, in order to do a good job in the guarantee of the event, Zhongtong Bus also specially dispatched a support team composed of backbones of service, research and development, design, vehicle moderation and other positions, and compiled a total of 11 major items and 42 subdivisions including fuel cell system, heating system, transmission system, suspension driving system, brake system, steering and control system. At the same time, Zhongtong Bus has put all the accessories needed for the event vehicles in place, and arranged 3 emergency repair and rescue vehicles to be on standby at any time.

On January 21, in the core district headquarters of the Zhangjiakou Division of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, the service team of Zhongtong Bus also carried out training on key vehicle systems and corresponding emergency rescue skills for more than 100 fire fighters in zhangjiakou through on-site and video connection, including hydrogen refueling, storage and supply systems for hydrogen fuel vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell engines, power batteries and other vehicle key systems. This training allowed the fire fighters to master the structural principles of hydrogen fuel buses and enriched their theoretical knowledge in the safety and emergency support of the Winter Olympics.

With the official opening of the curtain of the Winter Olympic Games, in the future, during the entire event, the batch of trains will run between Zhangjiakou Olympic Village and Chongli South High-speed Railway Station, mainly providing commuting services for media passengers and escorting the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
