The so-called "festival drama" is that the troupe specially performs plays that are compatible with the season as a celebration, such as the Dragon Boat Festival "The Legend of the White Snake", the Tanabata performance of "Cowherd Weaver Girl", the Mid-Autumn Festival "Chang'e Running Moon" and so on. As one of the four traditional festivals in China, the Spring Festival also has festival plays.
One is an auspicious and festive play with a beautiful meaning. Listening to the name of the play, you know that it is a drama that must be the scene of the New Year's Festival, such as "Dragon and Phoenix Chengxiang", "Great Promotion" (that is, "Zhongbaoguo"), and "Jin Bangle Reunion" (that is, "Royal Monument Pavilion"), which is a must-perform play in the festival drama during the Spring Festival. Correspondingly, plays with words such as killing and death in the title of the play are generally not performed during the Spring Festival, such as the Three Kingdoms drama "Battle changsha", although it is only the homophony of "sand" and "killing", but if it must be performed, it must also change the name of the play to "Yishi Huangzhong" or "Guan Huang Zhan". In addition, the plot is miserable, tragic drama is not performed, like "Bean Juice" is originally a flattering comedy, but the word "bean juice" looks a little poor, during the Spring Festival performance changed its name to "Hong Luan Xi", adding to the festive atmosphere.
Another kind of play that can show a festive atmosphere on the stage is also popular during the Spring Festival. When performing these plays, the stage presents a scene of flowers, rich and auspicious, and the general old artist pays attention to "full of red".
