On February 4, the torch of the Beijing Winter Olympics was relayed at the Summer Palace, with a total distance of 6.182 kilometers, completed by 97 torchbearers. Fan Di'an, chairman of the China Artists Association and president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, served as the No. 32 torchbearer.
Fan Di'an is the Academic Director of the Public Arts Committee for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. In the preparation process of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as an expert, he played an important role in the creation, brewing and determination of a series of important Winter Olympic elements such as emblems, mascots, torches, medals, and promotional posters; he actively supported the work of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and recommended professional talents played an important and decisive role in the design and implementation of the Winter Olympic landscape.
At the Summer Palace, which symbolizes the "Huaxia Garden", torchbearers wear uniforms with a white background and red and yellow patterns, and walk between the lake, water, cultural relics and monuments, showing the charm of the world cultural heritage and the integration of the Olympic spirit. Fan Di'an said: "The Summer Palace is one of the classics of China's excellent traditional culture, and participating in the Beijing Winter Olympic Torch Relay here, I feel that I am running from history to the future. The Beijing Winter Olympics is a grand event in the international sports world and a grand event to show Chinese culture to the world. The artistic design of the Winter Olympic Games and the art creation of the Theme of the Winter Olympics show the combination of strength and beauty, highlighting the beauty of Chinese culture and the Chinese cultural climate in the new era, and the majority of artists and teachers and students of the Central Academy of Fine Arts where I work have made due contributions.
