China FAW sold 3.5 million vehicles last year

Recently, China FAW held the 2022 China FAW and Hongqi Brand Press Conference, introducing the business development of China FAW and Hongqi brand in 2021 and its business objectives and work ideas in 2022, and releasing the new corporate logo of China FAW.

At the meeting, China FAW released the overall business target for 2022, planning to sell 4.1 million vehicles in the whole year, an increase of 17.1%; operating income of 770 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9%; market share of 15%; R & D investment intensity of more than 3%, and strive to reach 3.5%, independent brands reached about 8%.

According to reports, in 2022, China FAW will take the development of "red flag" as the benchmark, take brand building as the command, take the user as the center, take the comprehensive innovation drive as the main line, resolutely fight the four major battles of "comprehensive quality improvement, supply chain security and supply assurance, large marketing innovation and energy improvement, digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading", conscientiously grasp the nine key tasks such as "strengthening strategic management", and strive to achieve further high-quality leapfrog growth of independent brands, high-efficiency transformation and growth of joint ventures, and creative growth of risk control in key productive service industries. Comprehensively deepen reform, comprehensively develop employees, comprehensively strengthen party building and party style and clean government construction, practice the pioneer culture of China FAW, and strive to build a world-class automobile enterprise.

At the same time, China FAW will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, continue to carry out social welfare projects, help consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and promote the high-quality development of the region; it will focus on employee development, implement the strategy of "benefiting employees", adhere to the concept of "double care, double growth", resolutely safeguard and develop the interests of employees, and build a community of destiny for career development.

In 2021, in the face of severe and difficult situations such as the repeated outbreak of new crown pneumonia, China FAW still achieved a record of 3.5 million vehicles sold in the whole year, with operating income of 707 billion yuan, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year. Among them, the sales volume of the Hongqi brand exceeded 300,000 vehicles, an increase of 50.1% year-on-year; the Jiefang brand achieved sales of 440,000 vehicles, achieving the global "five consecutive championships" of medium and heavy truck sales and the "six consecutive championships" of heavy truck sales.

In terms of innovation and research and development, the main line driven by China FAW's comprehensive innovation has become more prominent, and the development potential has been greatly enhanced. In 2021, the total investment in research and development was 21.42 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year, accounting for 3% of revenue; 63 key core technology breakthroughs were made, 4757 patent applications were completed; and a large number of outstanding innovative products were launched, which won the favor of consumers.
