"I am a native village teacher, born in Sri Lanka, raised in Sri Lanka, and have been teaching for more than 20 years now." This simple self-introduction is a true portrayal of Teacher Zhang's growth experience. In the small town, the familiar scenery has been seen year after year, and she has also grown from an ignorant reading doll to a young teacher who holds a teaching whip and a colored pen, and plays and learns with children. In September 2020, Ms. Zhang ushered in an ordinary but hopeful new academic year, and like countless new semesters in the past, she came to the school early in the morning to complete some teaching preparations in advance. As soon as she walked to the playground, the old principal greeted her with a spring breeze, and it was difficult to hide the mystery in his excitement: "Teacher Peach, our school has added a new aesthetic education classroom in the summer vacation, and in the future, we can read, draw, write poems and sing for the children." "What's so mysterious about this?" Curiosity and doubt immediately appeared on Teacher Zhang's face. As if reading out her thoughts, the old principal led her to the multi-purpose classroom and excitedly introduced: "The Bazaar aesthetic education classroom that I applied for before has finally landed!" Now there are not only new classrooms, drawing aids, books, but also supporting courses, enough for our children to study for four or five semesters! Pushing open the door of The Bazaar's aesthetic education classroom, Teacher Zhang was immediately impressed, she never thought that a classroom could be so spacious and bright, rich in content, and the high-definition all-in-one machine with the screen alone was enough to surprise, not to mention the freely arranged desks and chairs. Seeing this, her eyes already had the appearance of children meeting their heads, chattering, reading and drawing.
Standardized aesthetic education classrooms have become a surprise gift for the new semester of teachers and students in the school
In the future, this will be everyone's "beauty education harbor". In the face of such a perfect everything, Teacher Zhang is still a bit "suspicious" - now it looks very good, but after the long-term operation, can it still be so? Her school is located in a remote area, aesthetic education resources are relatively backward, in order to make the children as all-round as possible, with art classes, music classes, teachers are multi-tasking, a teacher at the same time to teach three subjects is the normal teaching. Although the class is open, but the professionalism is very lacking, what they can do is to follow the art textbook, lead the children to draw the cat and the tiger together, and contact the simplest colors and lines. In the past, the school has introduced some aesthetic education public welfare resources, but only with teaching materials, painting materials, for the long-term development of rural school aesthetic education is far from enough, children are eager for a systematic and comprehensive curriculum, teachers hope to receive more professional quality training, improve aesthetic education capabilities, for a group of children on campus to bring the accompaniment within their capabilities...
Almost first-time painting, the children's paintings are serious despite their clumsy brushstrokes
Soon, the "Bazaar One Hour After Class" aesthetic education public welfare project course was launched in the school one after another, sweeping away Teacher Zhang's doubts. As the children's Chinese and mathematics and art teachers, after studying several double-teacher art classes together, she was full of emotions - facing the students, she always hoped that they would work harder and do better. In the first class, the art "homework" submitted by the children even made her slightly ashamed: "The lines are intermittent, the drawing paper is not clean, this is called 'painting'!" However, the teacher of the double-teacher class gave each child a positive and warm evaluation, encouraging them to continue to draw seriously. Watching the students who usually had little interest in art classes reluctantly walk out of the Basha classroom, breaking their fingers and looking forward to the next class, Teacher Zhang suddenly had a deeper understanding of patience, appreciation and encouragement.
Project Introduction
The "Bazaar One Hour After School" aesthetic education public welfare project aims to alleviate and improve the problem of uneven distribution of educational resources through the development of aesthetic education courses, the cultivation of rural aesthetic education teachers, and the provision of aesthetic education teaching equipment, so that more rural children can receive the influence of aesthetic education and help the development of rural aesthetic education.
As of October 2021, the project has transformed and put into use the Bazaar aesthetic education classrooms in 403 rural schools in 16 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, supplementing and enriching the children's aesthetic education life by carrying out graded aesthetic education courses such as art, reading and chorus in the aesthetic education classrooms.
Aesthetic education is not only a discipline and an education, but also a spiritual power that will hold everyone tightly and rush to the future together. In the future, students will meet surprises and better selves in this magical aesthetic education classroom.
"We paint together and grow up together"
If the Basha classroom is a gift of beauty, then everyone who "opens" it will be the happiest person. Soon after the classroom opened, a curious sixth-grader, Akira (pseudonym), was welcomed. When I first met him, he was standing at the door of the classroom twisting and turning, looking at the door. "Come in, kid." Although there was no art class for the sixth graders, Mr. Zhang still warmly beckoned Zhao Zhao to come in and read the book and play. Unexpectedly, Zhao Zhao turned around in front of the bookshelf and suddenly looked at Teacher Zhang with envy in his eyes and more grievances. After several inquiries, Teacher Zhang understood that Zhao Zhao, who had not been able to take a few art classes and did not know how to draw, was very envious of the students who could come to the Basha classroom every week. "Teacher, if only I were born two years late, I would like to go to class together!" In the fairy tale, Teacher Zhang saw the children's desire for high-quality aesthetic education courses. So she applied to the school to use the Basha classroom as a fixed activity venue for the after-school art group. In this way, all the students who love to draw can walk into this magical aesthetic education space and feel beautiful.
Children build blocks and build imaginary tall buildings
Here, Teacher Zhang was surprised to see the "other side" of the children: the little girl who always danced and sang was actually very "addicted" to drawing, the strange boy in the class was a little cartoonist with many fantastic ideas, and the lower grade children who could not sit still could not sit still, but they could quietly concentrate on drawing a lesson, or even longer... At the annual New Year's Day parade, Teacher Zhang and the children jointly "reviewed" the achievements of aesthetic education in the past year. In previous years, the collection of works needed to be a patchwork exhibition, but this time, just a few days after the "collection order" was arranged, Teacher Zhang's desk was piled up with paintings. Compared with the past, many children's painting skills have improved significantly, and Teacher Zhang is happy to award awards to each painting, and the list of winners has expanded again and again.

Seeing that their works were displayed with heart, the children's faces were full of smiles, participating in the literary and art performance, the movements were full of vitality and tigers; seeing the children so excited, Teacher Zhang's heart was stirred with joy and emotion.
The children were in high spirits and performed kung fu fan dances
"What a blessing we are to be one of the 403 classrooms; what a blessing it is that we can be one of the 200,000 teachers and students who have benefited!" Two years have passed in a hurry, the future is far and very long, I am willing to grow up with the children, happily stay in the Bazaar classroom to draw, learn, harvest more happiness, meet more hope. ”
