See the lion, write about the spring, cut the window flowers, paint the sugar painting... During the Spring Festival, experience traditional folklore and feel a different taste of the New Year. From January 30 to February 6, the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Folk Culture Festival will be staged at the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace. For 8 consecutive days, the New Year activities that are not repeated are invited to the public to "open a new ceremony in the Year of the Tiger".

On the afternoon of January 30th, the theme live broadcast activity of "Pursuing the Old Guangzhou New Year Customs" will be held at the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace. At that time, Zeng Yingfeng, Wang Meiyi, Rao Yuanyuan and other scholars gathered to chat about the Spring Festival customs of Guangfu and reveal the unique meaning of New Year goods.

Awakening the lion is a traditional folk activity in Lingnan and a representative project of national intangible cultural heritage. On the afternoon of January 30, the "Dragon and Lion Martial Arts Team" of the Information Engineering College of Guangzhou Science and Technology Trade Vocational College, which has won many awards in the 2021 Guangdong Provincial College Students Dragon and Lion Dance Championship and the 2021 Guangzhou Traditional Lion Awakening Invitational Competition, will bring a wonderful lion awakening performance. At the scene, the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace Wind Orchestra and Dance Troupe will also bring wonderful performances.

In anticipation of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, during the Spring Festival, the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace will organize curling experience activities. On the night of February 4, the first floor of the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace will play the old movie "Sisters on Ice" from the 1950s to reminisce about the older generation of sports people.

At the same time, from January 30 to February 6, the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace will launch eight folk experience activities, inviting citizens to experience traditional skills such as writing spring, cutting window flowers, making profits, painting flowers and birds, painting sugar paintings, making straw weaving, and weaving Chinese knots.

It is worth noting that during the Spring Festival, volunteer docents from the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace Volunteer Service Corps and the flagship station of Guangzhou Volunteer Station continued to provide services. They will lead tourists to visit the Beijing Road Millennium Ancient Road, the time-honored Street, the Huifu Food Flower Street, etc., to feel the memory of the city.
