Yesterday, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Harley-Davidson unveiled the new Low Rider ST and the more powerful Low Rider S model, both of which feature chassis and handling performance in the softtail series, as well as the Milwaukee-8 117 powertrain. The new Low Rider ST offers a hard-packed large fairing that redefines the Custom Style of the West Coast.

The adjusted high-performance respirator-type air intakes with forward-facing exposed filter elements allow more air to flow into the engine to generate exciting low- and mid-rotation torque and add heat dissipation to the motorcycle.

Low Rider ST

The Low Rider ST is a sporty travel version with a large fairing and side box that transforms the Low Rider ST model from a station wagon to an urban performance cruise when road trips are not required. The shape of the new frame fairing was developed through CFD computational fluid dynamics analysis and practical testing. Features a 6-inch-high windshield and a 5.75-inch large LED headlamp.

The Low Rider ST comes with shock absorption for longer strokes than the older model, with a 1/2 inch increase in front travel, a 1 inch increase in rear travel, and a 3/4 inch increase in seat height, boosting the rear of the motorcycle. Improved ride comfort and increased tilt angle by more than 1 degree improves dynamic performance and ground clearance, as well as increases rider confidence during aggressive corners.

The brake section is equipped with front 300mm dual front disc + four-piston fixed calipers, rear 292mm single disc + dual piston calipers, and ABS anti-lock braking standard. Premium Michelin Scorcher 31 tires (front 110/90B19, rear 180/70B16) improve ride and handling.

The gauges on the old model were mounted on the fuel tank, the new model eliminated this design, the dual gauges became a more compact combined single meter, and then the new model also provided a USB charging interface.

Low Rider S

The Low Rider S is the ST version that removes the large enclosure and side box, and the Milwaukee-8 117 engine produces 5% more torque than the Milwaukee-8 114 engine mentioned in the old Low Rider S model.

The Low Rider S also features a new handlebar-mounted combination gauge that replaces the previous tank console gauge. The low-profile fuel tank console with the FXLRS badge on the new model is now located on top of the tank. Another big difference between the Low Rider S and ST versions is that the S version uses a single-seat design.
