A few days ago, MV Agusta released a teaser announcing that the new Testalarga is coming, which is a special version of the Superveloce 800. Yesterday the photos of the new car were thoroughly made public.
MV Agusta also explained the reason for the name of this new model, and in the history of MV Agusta's legendary racing, it is particularly worth mentioning the Testalarga in 1973, which won one race after another at the hands of the legendary Giacomo Agostini, and the name Testalarga comes from its ultra-atmospheric cylinder head.
Superveloce's Testalarga version, the headlights are painted in traditional red and silver, and some performance-oriented changes have been made to the lower fairing to allow heat from exhaust to dissipate more quickly.
Little technical information is available about the new car, though, and we only know that the new Testalarga will be built on topveloce 800. As a result, the engine will be a three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 798cc, capable of delivering 147 hp and 88 Nm of torque.
Testalarga's photographs also show us perforated red suede saddles, single-seat fairings with the word Testalarga, and special liveries that are vaguely reminiscent of Superveloce Ago's livery.
The Testalarga version pays homage to the original car and is also equipped with a quick-open system for fuel tank lids that are only found on racing cars, with a lot of gold paint in the details, including the frame and wheels. In addition, in order to highlight the retro style, the front and rear wheels were replaced by the form of steel wire banners, and some carbon fiber decorations were also used on the fairing to enhance the sense of grade.
In terms of performance, Testalarga announced that the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is only 3.05 seconds, and the acceleration time of 0-200km/h is only 9 seconds. However, MV Agusta did not announce a specific release date, but told us that we are looking forward to the full appearance of Testalarga.
