Harley-Davidson officially unveiled the new Nightster yesterday, and Harley-Davidson China also officially announced the car, a brand new Sportster model powered by a 975cc water-cooled Revolution Max engine, which sells for $13,499 in three colors, the Vivid Black, and $13,899 for Gunship Gray or Redline Red.
Although it is the Sportster series, the appearance of the Nightster is more classic and pure, such as double rear shocks, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with a round air intake cover, a short fender, a single-seat design, etc., as close as possible to the classic air-cooled style features.
One of the most interesting things about the Nightster is that the traditional fuel tank is actually an air tank cover, the real fuel tank is located under the seat, the capacity is 11.7L, and the officially declared cruising range is about 261 kilometers. Placing the fuel tank under the seat helps reduce the vehicle's center of gravity while also maximizing the size of the airbox.
In the power section, the new Nightster is powered by the Revolution Max 975T engine, which is derived from the 1252cc displacement Sportster S engine, with a bore and stroke reduced to 97 mm x 66 mm. Like the sportster S's engine, the "T" indicates that the engine has been adjusted for torque, which has a maximum horsepower of 90 hp/7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 95 Nm/5,000 rpm, equipped with a sliding mechanical wet clutch and a six-speed transmission.
Configured in part, the Nightster is equipped with a modular monotube circular gauge that offers three driving modes, with TCS traction control, torque slip control, dual-channel ABS and much more as standard.
Chassis, 41mm SHOWA double bend valve telescopic fork, double rear shock absorber directly connected to the rocker arm, provide preload adjustment, using the front 19 inches rear 16 inch wheel specifications, equipped with 320mm front single disc + Brembo four-piston caliper, 260mm rear single disc + single piston caliper braking.
The Sportster 883, a classic entry-level Harley model, has always been cost-effective but slightly outdated. The new Harley-Davidson Nightster completely abandons this feature, although the price is slightly higher but the configuration is significantly improved, and the new design is more in line with the aesthetic standards of today's young people, this car should be introduced to the domestic market in the near future.
