FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation and will recall the following vehicles from March 25, 2022.
A total of 162301 Corolla vehicles were produced between March 23, 2020 and July 2, 2021, and 161614 ralink cars produced between April 8, 2020 and November 19, 2021.
Due to the manufacturing problem of the engine ignition coil, the size of the Stage 1 coil bracket inside some of the ignition coils may be deviated, and the Class 1 coil may come into contact with the center iron core, and the insulation between the copper wire and the center iron core in the coil is reduced.
In extreme cases, the operation of the engine may cause a short circuit in the 1-stage coil and the central iron core, so that the fuse is fused, cutting off the power supply of the spark plug, causing the vehicle to stop during driving, increasing the risk of accidents in the vehicle, and there is a safety hazard.
The manufacturer will replace the modified ignition coil free of charge for the vehicles covered by the recall to eliminate the safety hazard.
It is worth noting that the quality myth of Japanese cars in China has also begun to be questioned, which can be seen from the successive recalls of Japanese cars.
Last year, Toyota motor recalled more than 1.28 million vehicles in China, mainly involving RAV4 Rongfang, Asia Dragon, Camry and Lexus series products.
Hidden dangers include densified fuel pumps, engine exhaust gas recirculation valve internal structure, etc., but Toyota's previous "oil emulsification" incident has not yet been clearly resolved.
