Dong Yongzhi began to teach himself humanistic landscape painting in 2012, sharpened a sword for ten years, and was admitted as a senior research student by the National Academy of Painting of China and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2021. Why can Dong Yongzhi be on CCTV? This has to do with his tireless pursuit of art. When he was young, Dong Yongzhi came from a financial background, loved literature, used his spare time to write novels, began to publish literary works in 1989, and published novels, essays, poems, and reviews totaling more than three million words in many newspapers, magazines and publishing houses such as Jiaodong Literature, Qingdao Literature, Short Stories, Shandong Literature, and Contemporary Writers. His novel "Fragments of the Pop-up Track" has won the first prize of Yantai City Literary and Art Creation, the second prize of the 21st Century Literature Forum Award for Chinese Writers jointly organized by the China Writers Association and Literature and Art Daily, the first prize of the "Fifty Years of Socialist Literature and Art of the Republic" Seminar of the Chinese Art Research Institute of the Ministry of Culture, and the collection and display of the "Contemporary Writers Exhibition Hall" of the Changjiang Literature and Art Publishing House. The 500,000-word novel "Emmanuel" with the theme of neorealism won the first prize of Yantai Literature and Art Creation.
In 2012, Dong Yongzhi suddenly felt that writing could not fully release his feelings, and he wanted to express it through painting. Saying that painting is painting, he bought pen, ink and paper and immersed himself in exploring and studying painting. A few years later, Dong Yongzhi successively held personal exhibitions at the Yantai Art Museum and the Yantai Academy of Painting, and people from the art, education and cultural circles appreciated and commented on his works, believing that these works were intertwined with poetry, words, texts and paintings, with profound artistic conception and vigorous rhyme, and their structural layout was wonderful, showing the author's rich cultural heritage; the use of philosophy in them gave people a refreshing feeling. In 2021, Dong Yongzhi turned his attention to the highest school of Chinese art, and he applied for the Two Academies of Painting of China and the Central Academy of Fine Arts at the same time, and was honored to be admitted to both colleges and universities at the same time. Unable to choose between them, he simply studied at two universities and was busy running between the two schools.
Through just a few months of study, Dong Yongzhi's painting techniques and ideas have been greatly improved, and some experts and scholars have given high praise to Dong Yongzhi's paintings: on the basis of inheriting the essence of traditional Chinese painting art, innovation has been carried out, and the convergence point between painting methods and Yi Li has been found, and the realm has been further sublimated.
The distinct personal style makes Dong Yongzhi's paintings stand out among the many landscape paintings of today, and the CCTV Calligraphy and Painting Channel issued an invitation to him to "paint the tiger in the year of the tiger".
While studying painting, Dong Yongzhi wrote an art review of more than 11,000 words, "Touching the Soul of Everyone in Art- A Dialogue with Lu Yushun," which was published in the comprehensive edition of Today's Headlines and the national core journal "Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" magazine, which aroused praise and heated discussion in the art circle.
