A few days ago, Nandu reporter learned that Mr. Huang Zhusan, the first director and professor of the Institute of Opera Relics of Shanxi Normal University, the consultant of the Chinese Puppet Opera Research Association, the consultant of the Shanxi Classical Literature Society, and the consultant of the editorial board of "Chinese Opera", died in Beijing on the afternoon of January 22, 2022 at the age of 84 due to ineffective medical treatment.

Tie-up in Shanxi "Laughing at Nothing"

Mr. Huang Zhusan is a native of Kaiping, Guangdong. After graduating from the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University in 1961, he was admitted to Sun Yat-sen University as a graduate student majoring in the history of Chinese literature, where he studied ancient Chinese literature and ancient opera under the tutelage of Professor Wang Jisi, a master of the study of the history of opera. As for why he came to Shanxi, in his self-description "My Path of Governance - Huang Zhusan", he once wrote: "After graduating from graduate school, a paper transfer order sent me to teach in the industrial management major of Shanxi Institute of Light Industry to teach students how to write reports and summaries in the factory. He described the experience with the words "no jokes." Later, due to the suspension of the school during the Cultural Revolution, Mr. Huang Zhusan was sent to Daning County, Shanxi Province, for three years as a farmer. "The nest of the mountain village, the spring planting and the autumn harvest, the wind and the rain, prepared to taste the hardships of labor." It was not until 1973 that he officially came to Shanxi Normal University to teach.

For more than 50 years in Shanxi, he has devoted himself to the visits and investigations of opera cultural relics, documents, and folk religious sacrifice dramas, and has traveled all over the vast rural areas, thus discovering a series of major problems in the history of the development of Chinese opera, putting forward far-reaching original views such as "pan-drama form", "diversity of opera production and development", "northern you have a puppet", and compiled dozens of academic treatises such as "General Theory of Chinese Opera Cultural Relics", which has had an important impact on the academic community. Professor Yan Baoquan, Dean of the School of Opera and Film and Television of Shanxi Normal University, said: "The Xiqu Museum founded by Mr. Xiqu is the first to open a special exhibition of xiqu cultural relics. The Xiqu Museum has become an important base for teaching, scientific research and cultural inheritance. Mr. Shouwang is a master, a tree orchid, and a torch has been passed on, and he has cultivated a batch of pillars for the academic community. ”

Hard work and fearlessness

In Mr. Huang Zhusan's self-description, he divided his path of learning into three stages. Before the 1980s, he considered himself to be in the early stages of exploration. In the late 1980s, after meeting with Mr. Wu Xiaoling, a well-known scholar in the mainland, Mr. Wu's opinion was exactly the same as that of Mr. Ji Si, the mentor. Therefore, he determined that he would focus on the investigation and research direction of opera cultural relics in the future.

Since then, he has used his spare time to form a research group on opera relics with several like-minded people and began to investigate the opera cultural relics. "The first stop was to Jinnan, where I visited Linfen, Hongdong, Xiangfen, Quwo, Yicheng, Houma, Xindi, Jishan, Hejin, Wanrong, Ruicheng, Yongji, Yuncheng and other places, and obtained a lot of first-hand information."

When going to the southeast of Jin, Mr. Huang Zhusan and the members of the group went to Pingshun Donghe Village to inspect the Song Monument, and because of the rain, they returned to the county town without a car, and everyone trekked for two days on foot to Changzhi. One night on the way, when staying in a mountain village, "it was covered with the black smell of the flea and the rampant fleas, which is beyond the imagination of today's people." When inspecting various places in southern Jinnan, "each person inspected the ancient tomb, measured, photographed, recorded, and depicted, crawling in the tomb passage all the time, touching the remaining skeletons and hairs, and now looking back, I also feel creepy."

Heartbroken, laughing at the disease

Professor Lu Wenli, a professor at the School of Drama and Film and Television of Shanxi Normal University, recalled his mentor in this way: In terms of dealing with the world, Teacher Huang has always been humble and low-key, indifferent to fame and fortune, and is an open-minded and wise person. As the founder of the Institute of Xiqu Cultural Relics of Shanxi Normal University, Mr. Huang has opened up a new path for the study of Xiqu cultural relics, founded a large-scale academic series "Chinese Opera" that has influenced domestic and foreign countries, organized the Xiqu Cultural Relics Museum, and single-handedly supported half of the humanities department of Shanxi Normal University, making the Institute of Drama Research an important window for shanxi normal university's foreign exchanges. Teacher Huang's writings and peaches and plums are all over the place, laying a solid foundation for the successful declaration of the doctoral program of drama and opera at Shanxi Normal University, but he retired from fame and fortune, regardless of fame and fortune, and became a real and nameless uncrowned king.

In the poem "Self-Encouragement in the New Year of Self-Encouragement", he wrote, "For a man, he must be free, and he must be a hero in the world." The belt is often converged, and the travel can withstand the wind", which is summed up by him in the "Four Proverbs of the World", "It is not high for people to deal with the world, and everything needs to be reviewed." The temple beckons Hugh to remember, leisurely stroll le an annunciation" mutual interpretation, a good interpretation of his low-key, indifferent attitude to the world.

Even in the face of the pain of the torment of the disease, Mr. Huang Zhusan is still optimistic to face it. According to Wu Guoqin, a professor of the department of Chinese at Sun Yat-sen University, his undergraduate and graduate classmates, Mr. Huang Zhusan has always insisted on fighting the disease during his lifetime. He was admitted to the hospital for gamma knife surgery due to the deterioration of his condition in ten days, and he needed to fix the iron cap on the skull with a screw first, but he did not care at all, and even imitated Wang Luobin to sing and lift your iron cap.

He once wrote a poem to quip himself: "The old man is heroic, and the second is the lancet of the medical door." The iron hat flaunts the city, and Juss is deliciously filled with soup buns. ”

As a disciple, in fact, after The Third Master of Bamboo suffered from cancer, I always paid attention to the health of his old man. Last night, when I heard the bad news of the unfortunate death of my mentor, I was so sad that I still couldn't believe it.

In the hearts of the disciples, the Third Bamboo Master is like a mountain-like existence.

Mr. Jin's return to Daoshan and the west of the crane are a huge loss to the academic circles of the whole country! The condolences to the Teacher are immense here! "If there is a bandit gentleman, you will not be punished in the end", but I hope that the teacher will go all the way and will no longer suffer from the torment of illness.

——Professor Yan Baoquan, Dean of the School of Opera and Film and Television of Shanxi Normal University

Mr. Huang has left us forever, he no longer has the entanglement of illness, nor does he have the entanglement of north and south, walking alone in the sentient world, only quiet study and hot fields to lean on.
