For more than 50 years in Shanxi, he has devoted himself to the visits and investigations of opera cultural relics, documents, and folk religious sacrifice dramas, and has traveled all over the vast rural areas of Shanxi, thus discovering a series of major problems in the history of the development of Chinese opera, putting forward far-reaching original views such as "pan-drama form", "diversity of opera production and development", "northern you have a puppet", and compiled dozens of academic treatises such as "General Theory of Chinese Opera Cultural Relics", which has had an important impact on the academic community.

Optimistically facing illness before death

According to Mr. Huang Zhusan's undergraduate and graduate students, Professor of the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University, Mr. Huang Zhusan was optimistic and open-minded by nature, and he insisted on fighting against the disease before his death. He was hospitalized for gamma knife surgery due to the deterioration of his condition on ten days, and he needed to fix the iron cap to the carbuncle with screws first, but he did not think anything of it, and also wrote a poem to joke about himself. "The old man is heroic, and the second is the lancet of the doctor's door." The iron hat flaunts the city, and Juss is deliciously filled with soup buns. Unfortunately, he was unable to overcome the disease this time.

The opera community mourns Mr. Huang Zhusan

Huang Tianji, Professor of the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University and President of the Ancient Chinese Opera Society:

Hearing the news of Takezo's death was sudden and sad. He also sent me a WeChat at 5 p.m. on January 21, turned a video related to diet to show me, I was outside the dinner did not see, 22 a.m. sent WeChat to him at 9 a.m., did not reply, did not expect to see the news of his death in the circle of friends at night, it was unbelievable. Takezo's death was a major loss to the academic community of opera.

I am also a teacher and friend of Takezo. He was humble and hardworking. I was a few years older than him, and he always called me a teacher. I wrote prefaces for him, and when he first started to learn to write ancient poetry in his early years, we often exchanged experiences in writing poetry. The two of us had a good relationship. When I was older, I rarely went out, but at the seminar on Zhu San's 70th birthday, I went to Linfen, Shanxi Province, with Professor Kang Baocheng and Mr. Zeng Yongyi from Taiwan, where everyone gathered for several days. This is a rare thing in my later years. The last time I met Takezo was in 2013, when the 8th National "Lifetime Achievement Award for Teaching and Research in Opera" was awarded to four old gentlemen across the country, and he and I were both on the list. He was at THE UNIVERSITY that year, and we met.

Zhu San went to Shanxi after graduating from the Chinese Department of Sun Yat-sen University in 1965, where the conditions were particularly difficult, but he was inspired by Professor Wang Jisi, devoted himself to the study of opera cultural relics for life, worked for a lifetime, never said a word, not only founded the first opera cultural relics research major in colleges and universities, filling the gap in the academic community, he also cultivated a large number of talents in the study of opera cultural relics.

Professor Wu Guoqin, Department of Chinese, Sun Yat-sen University:

Surprised to learn that Huang Zhusan's old classmates had unfortunately passed away, his heart was sad and indescribable!

Takezo's death is a major loss to the opera academic community! He has edited the "Chinese Opera", edited the voluminous "Sixty Kinds of Qu Commentaries", especially in the study of opera cultural relics, and made outstanding contributions, and his relevant treatises have been translated into foreign languages and distributed overseas. He founded the Institute of Opera Cultural Relics of Shanxi Normal University, making it an important town for the study of opera.

Takezo was a classmate of my undergraduate and graduate students at the university, and he was a decent person with genuine enthusiasm. After graduating from CUHK, he was assigned to Shanxi, and his girlfriend in love was unwilling to go with him and leave him, and the blow was not small, but Zhu San was strong and faced, and finally created his own world in Shanxi.

For several years, Takezo has been suffering from illness, and recently underwent brain surgery, and even used an iron hoop to hoop his head, which is tantamount to torture, he sent me the photo, and after reading it, he really wanted to cry, it was too miserable. But Zhu San is still optimistic and strong, and even imitates Wang Luobin's singing to lift your iron hijab, and his strong and optimistic spirit is moving!

Takezo rest in peace, there is no iron cover in heaven, you are free, liberated, please go all the way!

Professor Kang Baocheng, Department of Chinese, Sun Yat-sen University and Vice President of the Ancient Chinese Opera Society:

Mr. Huang Zhusan graduated from CUHK in 1961 and studied under Mr. Wang Jisi for graduate school, and was assigned to work in Shanxi after graduation. Following the teachings of Ji Sishi, he created the first major in the study of opera cultural relics in China at Shanxi Normal University, which can be described as unique and close to the water. After decades of hard work, the only domestic opera cultural relics research echelon has been established. His death is a great loss to the study of opera! Condolences to Elder Takezo!

Professor Che Wenming, Vice President of Shanxi Normal University:

The beloved Teacher Huang died suddenly, and he was deeply saddened. Teacher Huang is my professional teacher, the founder of the Institute of Opera And Cultural Relics of Shanxi Normal University, and the first director. Mr. Is knowledgeable, deeply educated, kind and kind, and is our eternal mentor! The cause created by Mr. Li has been and will certainly continue to be carried forward! Mr. Yong'an!

Professor Yan Baoquan, Dean of school of opera and film and television of Shanxi Normal University:

As a disciple, in fact, after The Third Master of Bamboo suffered from cancer, I always paid attention to the health of his old man. Last night, when I heard the bad news of the unfortunate death of my mentor, I was so sad that I still couldn't believe it.

In the hearts of the disciples, the Third Bamboo Master is like a mountain-like existence. This is not only because he is the founder of the Institute of Xiqu Cultural Relics of Shanxi Normal University, he has made great contributions to the establishment of the Institute, and has made great contributions to the construction of drama and film and television disciplines, but also he is a pioneer of opera cultural relics, and he has made outstanding achievements in many fields such as opera cultural relics, sacrificial drama, opera literature, poetry and novels, and has written richly, especially in the field of opera cultural relics research.

He is also one of the founders of the large-scale series "Chinese Opera", which has become an important authoritative academic journal recognized by the academic community after 36 years of development. The Xiqu Museum founded by his husband is the first to open a special exhibition of xiqu cultural relics. Today, the Xiqu Museum has become an important base integrating teaching, scientific research and cultural inheritance. Mr. Shouwang is a master, a tree orchid, and a torch has been passed on, and he has cultivated a batch of pillars for the academic community.

Mr. Jin's return to Daoshan and the west of the crane are a huge loss to the academic circles of the whole country! The condolences to the Teacher are immense here! "If there is a bandit gentleman, you will not be punished in the end", but I hope that the teacher will go all the way and will no longer suffer from the torment of illness.

Wang Kui, Director of the Xiqu Research Institute of the China Academy of Arts and President of the China Xiqu Society:

The esteemed Mr. Huang Zhusan passed away, after many years of tenacious struggle with cancer.

Before that, I accompanied Ms. Cai Xinxin, a Taiwanese scholar, to visit her husband in Beijing. Once in a stable body, he laughed and rejoiced, holding his own poems and anthologies to recall many past events with Taiwanese scholars, including, of course, the humanistic tradition of Sun Yat-sen University, which opened his academic ideals. On that day, from the residence to the nearest restaurant, there were many conversations, and the most impressive thing was that he did not have the pain caused by the disease at all, and the most concerned about the laughter was opera and culture.

A native of Guangdong, Mr. Huang worked in Linfen, Shanxi Province in the 1960s for half a century. Many people mistakenly believe that he is an authentic northerner because of his tall stature, and those who are familiar with him understand best that from the perennial warm Lingnan to the cold and dry Hedong, what makes him willing to move his roots is the thickness of other people's character and his dedication to scholarship. Perhaps, such a life encounter is related to the times, but it is Mr. Huang's attitude to life as a true scholar to study the history of opera in a deep vein by pro-Wang Jisi.

In the birthplace of opera art, Mr. Huang saw the opera stage built over generations after the maturity of opera, saw the fan drum divine spectrum that remained in the folk, and saw the folk customs with unique local personality, which were beyond the scope of the previous understanding of the history of opera. Therefore, from the south to the north, he has extracted from regional experience the academic knowledge that is enough to fill the gap in the study of the history of opera, and has greatly improved the previous sporadic achievements in the study of opera stages and opera cultural relics into mature opera cultural relics.

Today, when scholars in the field of opera studies praise the study of opera relics at Shanxi Normal University and go to Normal University to conduct field research on Shanxi opera cultural relics, they are actually inseparable from Mr. Huang's pioneering and pioneering of this discipline. As a grandmaster-level scholar in this field, he and the generations of scholars he cultivated and united have sent a large number of outstanding talents to the field of opera research, and the "Chinese Opera" he co-founded with the China Opera Society, as well as the Xiqu Museum built on the cultural relics of Shanxi Opera, have attracted more scholars to devote themselves to the study of xiqu cultural relics. All of this, in his jokes, turned into a period of human past, showing the ordinary heart of a true scholar in family memories. Mr. Huang has left us forever, he no longer has the entanglement of illness, nor does he have the entanglement of north and south, and he walks alone in the sentient world with only quiet books and hot fields.
