For the charger interface, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has a tough attitude, where should Apple go this time?

Text/Dong Review/Zi Yang Correction/Zhi Qiu

As a global technology giant, Apple can be regarded as the most wayward of many companies. Whether it is the arrogant apple tax, or the operation of cutting leeks such as headphones and charging heads for environmental protection reasons, a number of consumers have felt the willfulness and arrogance of Apple.

For Apple's behavior of not giving away charging heads under the guise of environmental protection, many institutions have also "cracked down on counterfeiting". As a result, the European Union has proposed the idea of "unified charging interface", which further unveils Apple's pseudo-environmental protection fig leaf.

However, for the EU's warning, Apple chose to refuse, and Apple once again gave a high-sounding reason for this: the EU's move will stifle the innovation of enterprises and ultimately damage the rights and interests of consumers.

It can be seen that Apple's arrogance and willfulness, in addition to the hard power of science and technology from the company, is also related to the "cheekiness" of the company.

For the charger interface, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has a tough attitude, where should Apple go this time?

However, in response to the problem of "charging interface" recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has made a tough attitude: it will promote the integration and unification of charging interfaces and related technologies.

In response to questions from members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the next step will continue to promote the formulation of national standards, promote the integration and unification of charger interfaces, and improve the recycling rate of electrical and electronic products.

There is no doubt that the unification of the charging interface is basically a good news for consumers. If the charging interface can finally be unified, consumers can not only save the cost of purchasing different charging interfaces, but also make daily operation more convenient, and there is no need to switch different charging interfaces for different terminals when charging.

At present, most of the digital products on the market use Type-C uniformly, and only Apple insists on using the Lightning interface. Therefore, the initiative to unify the charging head may not have much impact on other smart digital manufacturers. But for Apple, it will seriously affect revenue.

Therefore, in the face of the requirements of a unified charging interface, Apple has been sparing no effort to oppose.

This time, the Mainland Ministry of Industry and Information Technology intervened to require the unified use of charging interfaces, where should Apple go? Or from another point of view, if Apple chooses the giant, what will be the consequences?

For the charger interface, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has a tough attitude, where should Apple go this time?

The author believes that although Apple will reject the "unified charging interface" to the greatest extent for the sake of economic interests, if Apple chooses to refuse the unified charging family mouth with a tough attitude, the final consequence will either be fined by the EU; or the relevant markets including China will exclude Apple. Either way, for Apple, it is unbearable.

Therefore, if the final charging interface can really be unified, even if Apple is not happy, but adhering to the principle of maximizing benefits, it will still choose to compromise.

For the charger interface, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has a tough attitude, where should Apple go this time?

Of course, all of the above are based on the integration and unification of charging interfaces that have reached a certain level of technology that relevant enterprises have reached. Therefore, if apple wants to compromise, it is imperative to promote the development of related technologies. Otherwise, Apple's "bullying" in terms of charging interfaces will continue.
