Zhirong SW3566 and SW3516P are used in Anker 65W GaN chargers

author:Charging head net

Preface

With the implementation of the UFCS fusion fast charging protocol, major domestic mobile phone manufacturers and fast charging accessories manufacturers have launched terminal equipment and charger products that support fusion fast charging, making the UFCS fusion fast charging ecology flourish.

Recently, when disassembling the Anker 65W gallium nitride charger, the charging head network found that it was equipped with Zhirong SW3566, SW3516P, and two chips.

Anker 65W GaN charger

Anker's new 65W GaN charger brings a completely different design from its predecessors, with a purple matte shell at the input and waist of the body, and a translucent amethyst-style design and transparent plate decoration on the top, giving people a unique visual look.

The overall style of the fuselage is simple, and the waist is featureless on all sides. The charger is equipped with foldable GB prongs, which is easy to carry and will not scratch other devices in the bag.

Zhirong SW3566

USB-C2 and USB-A ports use Zhirong SW3566 step-down controller, this chip is a highly integrated multi-fast charging protocol dual-port charging SOC chip, built-in MCU, supports USB-C and USB-A interface charging, and supports dual-port independent current limiting. The chip integrates a high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter, supports 20V7A and 28V5A output, supports PD3.1/QC/SCP/UFCS and other fast charging protocols, supports fast charging protocol customization, and supports a maximum output power of 140W.

SW3566 integrates CC/CV mode, dual-port management logic and bus voltage detection, and can be used with corresponding step-down switch and VBUS switch to achieve dual-port step-down output. The built-in buck converter on the chip operates at a frequency of 180KHz and supports PWM and PFM modes. The output current, line loss compensation and other protection thresholds can be set through the I2C interface, and the built-in ADC can realize data sampling of 9 channels such as input and output voltage, output current, chip temperature, etc., and support external MCU for parameter display.

SW3566 supports 36V input voltage, up to 7A output current, built-in soft start, input over/under voltage protection, output over/under voltage protection, output over-current/short-circuit protection, DP/DM/CC over-voltage protection, chip over-temperature protection and external NTC thermistor protection, and power limit protection. The chip is packaged in QFN4*4-32.

Zhirong SW3516P

The step-down protocol IC adopts the Zhirong SW3516P, which is a highly integrated multi-fast charging protocol dual-port charging chip, which supports the fast charging output of any port of A+C port, and supports independent current limiting of dual ports, and the parameters and specifications are the same as those of the Zhirong SW3516H.

SW3516P integrates a 5A high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter. It supports multiple fast charging protocols such as PPS/PD/QC/AFC/FCP/SCP/PE/SFCP, with a maximum output PD of 100W, CC/CV mode, and dual-port management logic. Only a small number of peripheral components are needed to form a complete high-performance multi-fast charging protocol dual-port charging solution.

智融 SW3516P 详细资料。

According to the dismantling of the charging head network, Zhirong SW3516P has also been used in products such as Shanji 100W 3C1A GaN charger, Bull 67W 3C1A Mountain Peak Safety Fast Charging Socket, Meizu PANDAER 67W 2C1A GaN Gearbox Tide Charge, and Greenlink MFM Certified 100W 2-in-1 GaN Charging Station, and the performance and quality of the chip have been unanimously recognized by customers.

Summary of the charging head network

Zhirong Technology has been deeply engaged in the field of digital-analog hybrid chips for many years, and currently launched gallium nitride packaged chips, synchronous rectifier controllers, synchronous buck-boost controllers, protocol chips, SoC chips and other products, which can effectively solve the end-to-end design problems of customers' products. Therefore, Zhirong has been widely used in the field of consumer electronics and has been selected and recognized by many manufacturers.

Anker's 65W GaN charger has a long body design with folding pins for easy daily storage and carrying. It has a 2C1A output interface, of which USB-C1 and USB-C2 both support 65W PD fast charging, and USB-C2 and USB-A interfaces also support 33W UFCS fusion fast charging, which has excellent compatibility and meets the fast charging needs of most devices.

This charger uses the SW3516P buck chip of Zhirong Technology to achieve USB-C1 single-port output, while the USB-C2 and USB-A ports use SW3566 to achieve dual-port output. Among them, Zhirong SW3516P supports mainstream fast charging protocols, with a maximum PD output of 100W. In addition to supporting the mainstream fast charging protocols on the market, Zhirong SW3566 also supports 28V5A fast charging up to 140W, and has passed PD3.1+UFCS dual certification, and the built-in MCU can be used for secondary development, which is very suitable for the field of USB PD3.1 fast charging. These two chips can be described as the best choice for dual-port charging products.
