At the same time as the ranks slowly grew, guerrilla warfare against the Japanese army achieved good results, and later in view of the actual situation, commander Peng Xuefeng proposed the establishment of a cavalry regiment, and this cavalry regiment also repeatedly built up miracles in subsequent battles, eliminating many Japanese puppet troops, but the weather was unpredictable, in 1944, under the instructions of the Party Central Committee, Zhang Zhen and Peng Xuefeng led their troops through the westward campaign, and in the final closing stage, Comrade Peng Xuefeng unfortunately suffered stray bullets and heroically sacrificed.
