The "Heart to the Mother River and The Conservation of Sanjiangyuan" ecological protection public welfare project, jointly initiated by the Western China Talent Development Foundation and the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration in 2019, aims to advocate all sectors of society to pay attention to the ecological environmental protection of the Sanjiangyuan area, conduct talent training for the Sanjiangyuan area, and promote "ecological conservation".
"Whether it is the 'Mother River' of the Yangtze River of the Yellow River, or the turquoise Qinghai Lake or the majestic Brahmaputra River; whether it is the century project of the south-to-north water diversion project, or the 'green map' of the Saihanba forest farm; whether it is the elephants in Yunnan returning from the north to the south, or the breeding and migration of Tibetan antelopes... All this shows that people do not live up to Qingshan, and Qingshan will certainly live up to people. At the end of the year and the beginning of the year, the Western China Talent Development Foundation and the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration continued to promote the public welfare project of "Caring for the Mother River and Maintaining the Sanjiangyuan".
In December 2021, in order to further improve the training of ecological stewards in the Sanjiangyuan area, after research and combined with the actual situation of the training of stewards in the Sanjiangyuan area, the project team developed the sanjiangyuan national park ecological talent training course system, and the research results were released to the public.
At the launch ceremony, Professor Li Hongwei, the leader of the research group, introduced the phased research results of the project from the eight modules of the background characteristics, tasks and development changes of the establishment of Sanjiangyuan, the interpretation of the institutional mechanism and policy of Sanjiangyuan, the protection of ecological knowledge and environmental capabilities, the improvement of management knowledge and leadership, the inheritance of Tibetan culture and environmental protection, safety testing and patrol skills, management and safety protection knowledge and skills, and appendices (compilation of relevant systems). She said that in the next step, the research group will learn from the experience of personnel training and upgrading in the construction of national parks at home and abroad, combine the characteristics of the Sanjiangyuan area, and produce a set of "Sanjiangyuan National Park Ecological Management and Protection Talent Training System" with practical application value, so as to enhance the comprehensive ability of ecological management and protection talents in the Sanjiangyuan area.

With the continuous donation support of Beijing Honglin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and other caring enterprises, in order to scientifically design projects, maximize the actual situation of the "Sanjiangyuan" area and meet the needs of beneficiary groups, the Western China Talent Development Foundation has organized research teams to Qinghai Province for many times to conduct field research on the "Heart Mother River Conservation Sanjiangyuan" public welfare project. On the basis of listening to the opinions and suggestions of experts and scholars, environmentalists, managers of the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration and local stewards, the project concept of "raising water before educating people, achieving water conservation through educating people" was formed, and in October 2019, a project launch conference was held at the South Campus of the Central Party School (National School of Administration).

In order to improve the ability of ecological stewards to perform their duties under the ecological compensation mechanism in Sanjiangyuan area, from September 15 to 20, 2020, the first phase of the "Ecological Stewards" theme camp for the harmonious coexistence between man and nature of the "Ecological Stewards" public welfare project was successfully held in Yushu Prefecture, and 50 ecological stewards from four counties and the leaders of the four county stewards and protection stations participated in the training camp, and the participants covered the four counties in Sanjiangyuan for the first time, achieving good social and talent benefits.
