Classic Short Story: Try Again

There was a little girl who lived in a family that was not wealthy. Once, she and her mother went to the vegetable market, and the little girl saw many people around a stall buying bean sprouts, so she asked her mother: "Why do bean sprouts sell so well?" Mom said, "Because there's only one stall selling bean sprouts in the whole vegetable market!" The little girl had a sudden idea and asked her mother, "Then can we grow it and sell it?" ”

Most parents hear their child ask this question and may say, "What sprouts are planted?" Read well and don't think about it. Or, "There's no place to grow sprouts at home, and we won't plant them." ”

However, the little girl's mother only replied with a simple sentence: "Well, let's try." ”

So the little girl and her mother planted bean sprouts on the balcony of the house. The bean sprouts died not long after they grew, and the little girl shed tears, and her mother put her arm around her shoulder and comforted: "Let's try again." ”

They found a book on bean sprouts. Her mother left school before finishing elementary school and could barely read, so she asked her daughter to read out the way to grow bean sprouts in the book. According to the book, My mother installed a shaded curtain on the balcony. The little girl asked her mother, "Will it be successful this time?" Mom's answer was the same as always: "Let's try." Unfortunately, the second attempt also failed.

Faced with failure, mom chose to keep trying. She found that the reason the sprouts died was that they were not watered on time. But moms have to do odd jobs, little girls have to go to school, and they can't water on time. The mother and daughter figured out a way to poke many small holes in the discarded plastic bottles, fill them with water, and hang them on top of the sprouts, so that they could continue to water the sprouts. When installing the plastic bottle, the daughter asked her mother: "Can this time be successful?" Mom's smile was always full of confidence: "Let's try it." ”

The sprouts finally grew, and the little girl blossomed. The mother looked at her daughter with a happy look and asked, "Do we want to try something else?" The little girl smiled and replied, "Let's try!" ”

The little girl in the short film has a life archetype, she grew up with a scholarship and is now working in Sweden for scientific research. At the end of the short film, the grown-up girl faces the camera and says: "My mother said'Let's try', like a magical fertilizer, nurturing my curiosity and watering the branches of my knowledge. ”
