Chen Dongsheng's contributions to China's business community and culture and art are Taikang Insurance and Taikang Elderly Care Community, and Guardian Auctions. Chen Dongsheng is a unique figure in China's "40 years of reform" era, which can be called legendary. In addition, his marriage to the descendants of great men, coupled with the mysterious color of his Chinese politicians, constitutes the multiple personalities and humanity in his "multiple lives".

Therefore, Chen Dongsheng is a microcosm of China's era and is worth studying. I'm focused on its "institutional entrepreneurship" side. A few years ago, when I wrote "Institutional Entrepreneurs and Qianhai Model Innovation", I used it as an object of observation and a figure of the times. His personal experience and the process of innovation of Guardian's auction system and corporate creation are shown in his books "A Hammer Fixing the Sound - Twenty Years of Me and Guardian" and "The Age of Longevity". When I read this book last year, I linked Chen to Tu's Shekou reform in Yuan Geng's biography.
The latter was established in 1993, which is of greater significance and has a higher status in the industry. But without the former (established in 1996), the strength and status of Guardian Auction are difficult to rely on.
