"Post-80s" collector Guo Liangcai: Visiting all parts of the motherland and inheriting red culture

In a storage room of more than 20 square meters in Jinlong Village, Wendou Town, Lichuan City, Hubei Province, boxes of precious collectibles are stacked.

Guo Liangcai, who was born in this village in September 1980, graduated from the secondary school of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hubei Province, and worked in a furniture factory in Beijing for more than three years, and then moved to Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province to work for 22 years, responsible for stationery sales. He has been running around outside all the year round and has formed an indissoluble bond with the collecting industry.

One day in February 2002, Guo Liangcai returned home to visit his parents and three older brothers, and accidentally picked up a commemorative medal of Chairman Mao Zedong from the garbage heap. So, he put away the precious medallion and put it in his closet. His father told him that this was the commemorative medal of Chairman Mao worn by the older generation when they were young, in memory of the great man Mao Zedong.

When he was a child, Guo Liangcai often listened to his ancestors sing "Beloved Chairman Mao, the red sun in our hearts." Dear Chairman Mao, the red sun in our hearts. How many intimate words do we have to tell you, how many enthusiastic songs do we have to sing to you, ......"Dear Chairman Mao, the red sun in our hearts" The red song "Beloved Chairman Mao, the Red Sun in Our Hearts" was also learned when he was in school. From the time he picked up the first commemorative medal of Chairman Mao, he deeply remembered the great man Mao Zedong in the form of a collection.

From Beijing to Wenzhou, he has worked hard in a foreign land for 25 years, except for Xinjiang and Tibet, he has been to other provincial capitals and some prefecture-level cities. At the same time, when he went south and north to sell stationery, he made many friends, and became more and more interested in collecting precious commemorative medals and materials, and he wanted to pass on the feelings of deeply remembering Chairman Mao and other revolutionaries of the older generation, and become a private collector.

In March 2005, Guo Liangcai came to the countryside of Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, and met his old colleague who had worked in stationery sales with him in Wenzhou, and that colleague was also a collector. Guo Liangcai came prepared, and found that his old colleagues had collected more than 20 commemorative medals of Mao Zedong, Marx, Lenin, and Zhou Enlai, and Guo Liangcai bought them all at a price of 5 yuan each, which was the first time he went out to harvest the largest collection results.

In Guo Liangcai's circle of friends, as long as he gets the collection information, he will mobilize his friends to collect the precious commemorative medals and materials by mail. Collectors from Jiangsu, Shenyang, Inner Mongolia and other places brought the scattered collection of commemorative medals and historical materials through acquaintances. He said: "Whether it is picked up by others or bought, I have to collect it together. ”

In July 2009, Guo Liangcai bought 500 commemorative medals with valuable value sent by friends from all over the country. In his collection room, the commemorative medals of Mao Zedong and other national leaders of the older generation have attracted the appreciation of countless villagers and foreign tourists.

Ancient materials are also displayed in Guo Liangcai's collection room, including quotations from Chairman Mao, selected works of Chairman Mao, Marx and Engels and Lenin, newspapers of China's liberation in 1949, people's handbooks and people's pictorials from 1950 to 1959, which record the great achievements of Mao Zedong and other old-timers. On September 9, 1976, the news of Mao Zedong's death was published in many newspapers at home and abroad, and Guo Liangcai collected it and put it in his home. To this day, the yellowed handwriting of the newspapers is still clearly visible, and these valuable materials can be seen at any time when others come to his collection room. His "...... Thousands of red hearts are beating violently, and thousands of smiling faces are facing the red sun. We sincerely wish you the old man, long life without borders, long life without borders......" The song reverberates in the vast blue sky, echoing in the streets and alleys of every city and the winding and rugged village roads......

Once, Guo Liang found that an old man had several Mao Zedong medals in his bicycle basket, and the old man was also collecting Chairman Mao's commemorative medals and was reluctant to sell them to him. He said, "Old man, there are only a few medals you have collected, sell them to me." When he visited the market, whenever he found a stall on the stall that someone had bought a commemorative medal of a great man and a party newspaper and a military newspaper that recorded the deeds of Mao Zedong and other great people, he would buy it back and put it in his collection room. Up to now, at his own expense of more than 320,000 yuan, he has collected more than 3,000 commemorative medals and portrait medals of Mao Zedong and other national leaders of the older generation, more than 160 picture albums, and more than 500 newspapers. Many red educational books and newspapers that he had never seen before in his seventies and eighties were seen by him, and he bought them one by one and stored them in his collection room.

Guo Liangcai's father is 78 years old and his mother is 74 years old. Over the past few decades, the old couple has witnessed the great achievements of Chairman Mao and other successive generations of party and state leaders from the old society to the 74th anniversary of China's liberation, and taught their four sons to love Chairman Mao, cherish Chairman Mao, love the party, love the motherland, and follow the party wholeheartedly.

Every time Guo Liangcai returns home, he has to listen to the red historical stories told by his parents and three elder brothers, remember the great achievements of the great man, inherit the great man's legacy, and educate his children to grow up healthily. He said: "Today's young people only know how to brush Douyin, surf the Internet, and live a worry-free life, how do we know how our happy life came about, I welcome young people to come to my collection room to receive party history education, so that they can receive love for the party and patriotism education in my collection room, and always remember Mao Zedong." ”

In February this year, Guo Liangcai left Wenzhou and returned to his hometown of Lichuan City, where he joined the team of rural revitalization and tourism economy development as a salesman in the homestay industry. Every time he returned home, he would open the party history books he had treasured for 21 years, and be a volunteer to learn party history and spread red genes in the Xi. He said: "In all parts of the country, I have a collection team of six people, and it is difficult to see a Mao Zedong commemorative medal and a newspaper recording Mao Zedong and other historical materials in the cultural relics and bazaars. ”

December 26 this year marks the 130th anniversary of Chairman Mao Zedong's birth. He said: "Through my collection action, I want to leave a deep impression on the great achievements of Chairman Mao Zedong in the hearts of some young people, so that the whole society will cherish the memory of the great man Mao Zedong, unswervingly listen to the party's words, and follow the party." ”
