On January 18, the Lexus NX OFFROAD plug-in hybrid concept car and the ROV concept car with hydrogen engine were unveiled at the 2022 Tokyo Modified Auto Show. The NX OFFROAD plug-in hybrid concept car is based on the new generation of NX plug-in hybrid models, in pure electric and hybrid mode, the concept car combines smooth and delicate driving texture and remarkable low-carbon environmental advantages, while ensuring a reliable pure electric driving experience on wet and slippery roads. Featuring a taller chassis and large all-terrain off-road tires, the body is complemented by a custom copper-coloured livery with matte black accessories that ignite the passion for exploring life.
Unveiled at the same time, the ROV Concept is compact and breaks with traditional road and off-road driving concepts, aiming to create a unique driving pleasure and a pleasant experience that embraces nature. In addition, it is the first model under LEXUS to be equipped with a hydrogen-fueled engine, which is not only clean and environmentally friendly, but also continues the driving pleasure of internal combustion engine models.
A 1/3 scale model based on the Zivko Edge 540 V3 aircraft of Japanese star Yoshihide Muroya was also on display at the refitted car show. This year, Yoshihide Muriya will lead the "LEXUS/PATHFINDER Aerobatics" team to compete in the Air Race World Championship.
LEXUS has signed a team cooperation agreement with aerobatic pilot Yoshihide Muroya. The two sides will further accelerate the pace of collaboration, efficiently combine the cutting-edge technology advantages of LEXUS Lexus with the outstanding practical skills of Yoshihide Muroya, and develop high-performance models for the event and prepare for the event.
