On the afternoon of 14 January, the third plenary session of the first session of the 18th People's Congress of Rudong County was held, and the members of the standing committee of the new county people's congress, the county governors and deputy county chiefs of the new county people's governments, the directors of the county supervision commissions, the presidents of the county people's courts, the chief procurators of the county people's procuratorates, and the deputies attending the 16th People's Congress of Nantong City were elected.
The executive chairmen of the conference are: Chen Huiyu, Chen Changlong, Luo Xiaodong, Zhao Zunbing, Liu Feng, Yang Zhong, Zhu Zhengjun, Wang Yajun, Yu Feng, Tang Yadong, Cao Wei.
Chen Huiyu and other members of the presidium of the conference took their seats at the rostrum.
The meeting shall consist of 355 delegates and 349 delegates, in conformity with the quorum.
After voting, Comrade Chen Changlong was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the Eighteenth People's Congress of Rudong County; Xu Hongbin, Zhao Zunbing, Zhai Jianhua, Miao Weihong, and four other comrades were elected vice chairmen of the Standing Committee of the County People's Congress. Comrade Chen Lei was elected as the county magistrate of the Rudong County People's Government, and 7 comrades, including Xu Jinbiao, Xu Dongjun, Lu Xiang, Chen Xiaoli, Chen Weitao, Liu Li, and Shi Zhengquan, were elected as deputy county governors. Comrade Zhu Zhengjun was elected chairman of the county supervision commission. Comrade Yang Dehua was elected president of the county people's court. Comrade Fang Haijun was elected chief procurator of the county people's procuratorate.

Chen Changlong said: Standing at a new starting point for Rudong County to forge ahead in the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" and speed up the modernization drive, we deeply feel a heavy responsibility and a glorious mission. In the future, together with the members of the Standing Committee, I will unite and lead all the NPC deputies, inherit and carry forward the fine traditions of successive county people's congress standing committees, constantly push forward the work of the npcs and various undertakings, and live up to the expectations and great trust of the deputies and the people of Rudong County.
Chen Changlong said: First, we should always regard upholding the party's leadership as the first principle. Unswervingly adhere to and rely on the leadership of the county party committee, always operate in the same axis with the decision-making and deployment of the county party committee, resonate with the same frequency, and exert force in the same direction, strengthen the awareness of "center" ideologically, highlight the "center" position in work, ensure the "center" status in measures, and establish the correct political direction of the work of the people's congress. Second, we should always regard improving the effectiveness of supervision as the first priority. Carry out correct supervision around the central work of the county party committee and the people's "urgency, difficulty, and expectation"; carry out effective supervision around the hot spots and difficulties that require long-term follow-up and effectiveness; carry out law enforcement inspections around the government's implementation of laws and regulations such as urban and rural development, environmental protection, and people's livelihood guarantees, carry out supervision according to law, and truly do practical and good things. The third is to always take the promotion of people's livelihood improvement as the first responsibility. Promote people's democracy in the whole process throughout the whole process and in all aspects of the people's congresses' performance of their duties and exercise of their powers and in all aspects, and through such means as deliberating people's livelihood issues, supervising and handling people's livelihood matters, and carrying out the people's congress deputies' thematic practice activities, we will use our hearts and minds to promote the solution of the most direct and realistic interest problems that the people are most concerned about, and constantly enhance the people's sense of gain and happiness. Chen Lei made a statement on behalf of the new county government leading group. He said that behind the votes is the trust and support of the deputies to me and our team, and even more so, the love and trust of the people of Rudong County. Since I came to work in Rudong, it has been almost five full years since I realized it. In the past five years, my heart, my love, and all my efforts have been deeply melted into the land of Rudong.
